Fulmer says........Crompton is QB but may change punter

I thought that the punt that was returned for the TD was actually kicked pretty high..we had 3 guys very near him when he caught it.

I was referring to a different return. The one where James didn't meet an orange jersey until he had already gained about 15-20 yards, then was tackled.

I dont get this crap. How on earth does this team deserve an off day? Practice sunday and off monday what kind of joke is that. Fulmer is Fulmer his comments are as expected. The blind leading the blind.

I guess Phil would rather eat his Fried Chicken than spend time working on fundamentals with a team that no longer affects his salary w/ the level of their play(What an awesome contract negotiator!!!)

It's not a de facto smoke screen to point out that not having Colquitt out there downgrades our kicking game. It's a fact.

No, I dont agree with you, I believe that the fact that we even had the punter punt in the field of play was pure ignorance. Also, is it the punters fault that our entire special teams couldnt make a tackle if their live depended on it. Making it sound as though this punter has been the problem in our special teams is clearly not showing the proper attention to the real problem

A little off topic but did anyone else who watched this game on tv notice the fire and intensity in coach Urban Myer's eyes during the game! I really wish we had that at UT.

I firmly believe that teams take on the personality of the coach and I just think this team plays the same way as Phil's demeanor.....mild-mannered.

You aren't even addressing the fact I pointed out. We are a lesser team relying on a backup punter in precisely the same way we would be if Berry was having to sit. Colquitt is a much better punter than Cunningham. In fact, he's likely one of the better punters in the country. If you want to argue tackling then do so but dismissing the idea that being forced to sit a player (ANY player) that is better than what he's replaced by has no effect makes no sense. There's nothing deceptive about it. If I shoot you in the leg you limp.

I am not nor have not argued that the punter is the reason for everything. I have, and continue, to argue that it has mattered.

I don't know why everyone is defending a drunk punter. If he would have grown up, he would be the starting punter. He's lucky he is still on the team.

NCAA rules. You're only allowed a certain number of minutes on the field each week. You have to have a day off.

Didn't every person in the stadium (except Fulmer) know that you should not kick the ball to Brandon James?

It was him or percy harvin. But true, WTF is his problem. This worst part about it was the TERRIBLE tackling. That is a fundamental problem we seem to have which should have been eliminated in 5th grade.

To be fair, tackling all over the country sucks. Tackling in the NFL sucks.

It's a lost art

might look at another punter???

the dude is terrible and yes, we have been spoiled by always making sure the kicking game is a top priority.

damn you Colquitt

I guess we finally have our priority straight here....time to replace the dreaded punter. Its a good thing crompton has played so well, that way we dont have to use walk on qb's??????
