Haven't seen them...didn't even realize they survived the data hacking either. Why am I getting Ashley Madison ads (it literally says "Life is Short: Have an Affair")? I swear I haven't been looking up affairs, love, nookie, escorts or anything else. For some reason, I blame Catbone for this. Only other link would be Hugh Freeze. lol.![]()

I recall awhile back some poster complaining to Freak that everytime he logged on he constantly saw adds for gay porn. And then several people replied that the ads were based on your search history![]()
They usually are but I've had this pc for two days and have only looked up really dull stuff because of the fire we were in. I haven't even had time to look up porn yet - lol. I'm certainly not looking up affairs but I wonder if without a search history they just assume that those on a sports board would be good targets for their service.

I checked your post history. And, I may have found something pertinent.
You were talking about a baseball game between SCarolina and Oregon State.
You stated: “I hope the Cocks slam those Beavers”.

Facebook a factor? I seem to remember they'll track you even if not logged in. Sometimes the ads don't make sense. I used to see porn ads (Russian URLs, as I recall) years ago when checking sites for no-CD cracks for games, so I didn't have to keep switching disks every time I wanted to play a different game. For some strange reason that seemed to be the only ads they had that weren't game-related. And that was well before the ads were based on tracking your site visits, I never visited porn sites, and no one else used the computer.
I haven't used FB on this computer. I have to figure out what my logins were because they were all destroyed in the fire. I think it may just be that I looked up computers and sports and that was enough for the algorithm since I don't have much search history on this machine. It doesn't bother me I just wondered how in the world it happened without a more direct search history.
