I hope...

The entire point of the thread was for Hat to gloat at those people's expense. Hat obviously has a lot of knowledge. There's no need for an entire thread from him reminding the Fulmerite's of how little they know. That just seems childish.

Since when were we talking about Fulmerites? I thought we were talking about those that "don't know as much as we do", aka the casual fan, the fan who just goes to the game and that's it.

Again, they open themselves up by commenting. If they don't want to have a conversation or be given a differing opinion then they shouldn't post.

you know the fans will get a black eye in the media if they start to not show up or the boos keep coming en masse.

not that it should matter, but get ready. the big orange faithful will get put thru the ringer as this ship goes down as well.

I honestly don't care. I do not blame people for booing and not coming here to watch a pathetic product.

I will be here for every home game simply because I'm on campus. If I were a graduate (or just a fan that makes the drive, I'm not discriminating) and had to drive and watch this, I wouldn't waste the time, money and gas. It's hard to care when the people on the field don't.

All I hear out of you about our football program or fans is venom and bile.

Interesting analogy. Bile may not be what you want to see, but it plays a very important role in digestion and the excretion of broken-down products.

Gotcha.

If things continue down this road to oblivion, you'll see alot more of it, alot sooner.

I know, it's sad.

The worst thing is I'm getting out of the military and moving back down South this weekend, and my wife and I were really looking forward to going to the Bama game. Now I just feel that if I go that's like volunteering for a spinal tap with no anesthetics.

i don't either......just raising the point. Nebraska fans went thru it. Michigan fans just went thru it. we will go thru it too.

There are many bars on the strip that serves pretty much any beer/liquor you want.

Or just hit up your local weed man. LOL

So what is your reasoning for '02? You really think '03 and '04 made 2002 OK because we beat a Ron Zook coached Florida team 2 years in a row and owned Alabammy with Sheila at the helm? 2002 WAS the hiccup, that WAS the alarm that Fulmer was losing control. 2003 and 2004 came about and we let it go, in denial. Then 2005 comes around and it's only a tad worse than '02 simply because we lost to Vandy and didn't make a bowl.

Fast forward to today, and everyone points to 2005 as the hiccup, when it was really 2002.

And if you REALLY want to get picky, it started with the 99 recruiting class, possibly the worse Fulmer has had until this year.

There are no more excuses to be made.

Hind sight is pretty clear. I don't recall seeing or hearing anyone calling for CPF's head after the 02 season. You cant fire a coach a few years after a national title because he has a hiccup. It doesnt happen anywhere.

Well, we're going to be in Huntsville, Al... so I doubt there will be too many UT games on in bars. Unless they're on for open mic comedy night.

I went to my first game in 1987. Told the story here many times of how I became a real fan (I was only 7 then and while I loved UT I didn't get really hooked until seeing it in person, even after the 85 Sugar Vols) and I will be sure to tell it again sometime. I haven't missed a season of coming to at least one game every year since then. Once I got old enough to be able to go to every home game, I didn't miss one from 1991-2000. I've only missed about 4 games since that 91 season. I can honestly say I have little desire to go to another game this year, save for Alabama simply because a bunch of my friends and I have a weekend planned up there, obviously had it planned long before the season started.

I know there are others that have made it alot more games than myself, but I consider myself to be pretty dedicated and my dedication has waivered to the point that I would rahter watch other teams on TV and listen to the game as opposed to going.

Ahhh, I assumed you were gonna be Knoxville.

Although being in Huntsville there are a bunch of UT fans there so I am sure the game will be on somewhere.

Quite the contrary. If I am not mistaken the original fire Fulmer website(s) started popping up right around that same time. A smaller contingent were unhappy after 99, grew some in 2000, then it's ballooned since LSU part II in 01.

My first game in person was in 1994. I'm 23 and I've been to at least one home game since then and I would not spend one cent to make it up here until something happens.

It's a damn shame that it has come to that

again, 1993 started me on that train. The late 90s resurgence was a pleasant surprise. 2001 SECCG got me recentered on the fact that Fulmer isn't prepared to outcoach anyone.

Hell man the minute a coach is hired there is a Fire"insert name here".com But in reality there was no cry for him to go and you and I and everyone else pretty much kows that is the case.

I can't argue with that.

there have been spots where he and the staff have, obviously, but it was mostly against inferior competition, the like of Goof, Zook, Donnan, etc.

That gives me an idea for a thread...

Again, you are wrong here. There were several who were unhappy with him after that season. You have a selective memory.

mine too, in Neyland.....i had been to several games outside knoxville before then.......but i was 21 at that point in time. i now just feel old. thanks for that groves. :banghead2:

i was much more forgiving than you. the 93 Bama game was way too early on for me, in fact, just the fact we didn't lose to BAma again was a good start at the time. the 01 c'ship game i was willing to let go because it was the 3rd time in 4 years we played for the SEC title......i didn't see what was coming, starting in 02.

i did though have my reservations about the overall fulmer coaching philosophy as i watched CPF pucker up against Spurrier year after year. that never changed for me.

Hell man there were several who wanted Meyer gone from Florida last year and several who were clammering for Saban to be gone after last eyar at bammer especially after the ULM game. But several is not what I thought you meant. If you want a coach that will have everyone on their side then you will want all of your life.

and given that UF was our only real competition for many of his years at the helm, it was a huge problem.

You supported Fulmer and tried to pass off Doug Dickey as something other than a self interested piece of trash. That's all I need to form an opinion of you.

Are you EVER going to realize the only people interested in your opinion are your minions on this site and NO ONE of any importance? Why you would care that fans acknowledge they were wrong in their support of Fulmer?

There are about 15-20 posters on this site who have either played college/pro sports or have coached them at a level you would know nothing about. The same 15-20 posters would love to meet you face to face and see if you have the backbone to be as big a smartazz in person as you are behind your keyboard.

Most everyone knows it is time for Fulmer to go.

So you gave him one year???? You, like Hat, aren't nearly as smart as you think you are, BPV. And like Hat I will ask you, where and when did you play/coach a major college sport?
