Thoughts on Kiffin (merged)

So you would choose Dave Wannstadt's 10 years HC experience in the NFL over Urban Myer's 12 years experience coaching at "outhouse programs" like Illinois State, Colorado State, Bowling Green State, and Utah?
No, because Wanny has proved to be a failure at Pitt. The comparison of Wanny and Meyer is totally irrelevant to a discussion of resumes of two guys who had never been college head coaches.

Golic did bring it up. First thing right after a commercial break around 7:50 central time. Let's not go there. He sounds like a good kid and is nothing out of the ordinary.

Back to topic. Please, please, please, lets not even consider spurrier. The game has passed all these old farts.

Back on topic.

If it was up to me, and it's not, I'd say No to Kiffin. Just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of "coach" there. Remember when we won the NC? Kiffin was a senior at Fresno State that year.

The Raiders just let him go. Your thoughts? Those looking to get rid of Fulmer, where does he rank on your list of replacements? Is this even worth discussing?
Before you go in shooting the automatic rifle of "OH NO WAY"s, remember what Spurrier and Saban did in the League. Discuss.

Worthless discussion. Fulmer is going no where. That's why everyone is so upset.

There are people putting a guy that just got fired as their number 1 choice as a replacement at UT? Seriously?

That he got fired from the Raiders doesn't bother me, that he took a job coaching for Al Davis bothers me. It's not like Davis is an unknown quantity at this point.

Well if he was just let go, there must have been a reason?...Bad coaching possibly?..Hmmm...He doesn't rank in my top 10...Sorry

I like Skip Holtz, or the Texas Tech coach (although we would be throwing a lot with him) or maybe South Florida's Head coach. I would give anything to go to Texas and Still Will Muschamp from them. He is what we need someone with Energy and excitment and someone who will get in the faces of our players when they make mistakes and demand good play from them.

Jim Leavitt will not leave South Florida.

Mike Leach a.k.a. Vince Gill can stay at Tech.

hat...remind me again why I should remain a Raiders fan?
Do like I do. Just think back to the days of Stabler, Plunkett, Shell, Upshaw, Tatum, Hendricks, et al. Also, they have played decent football the last two weeks. Talked to Mack last week. I'll post a synopsis of the conversation soon.

hell, you forgot Casper, Branch, Hayes, van Eeghen, Allen. I know the et al. covered them, but those names have to be on the list.

Lane Kiffin should be the next head coach here young guy knows what he is doing....mature beyond his years.....has tremendous recruiting abilities....has connections in the NFL thanks in part with him being there and also his dad being their recruits will love that...plus he is available and we won't have to worry about a buyout

No. I think it really didn't make sense at this point. A whole lot of time has passed.

I know but I thought you might have talked off the record.....now that would have been a story!
