That's what happens when @bignewt gets on a roll.
it's like Beavis going full Cornholio.

experience matters. how much will it matter to the point it translates to W's this time around is the question.

and you're still probably not going to have the best OL available in Smith, so until it's proven otherwise, the OL is a ? mark.

the defensive production is the one that is a little misleading. cause the DL is what's going to be brand new. i think our back 7 should be pretty good. may not matter if we can't do much up front though.

So based on the weight discussion I noticed some things.

1. Thank the heavens the QBs have all added size.
2. Jahmir Johnson was damn productive for being so light, even gaining pounds with Fitz he was only 285.
3. OL all improved though, those who needed to add size did & those who could lose some did.

Johnson is going to be a stud next year as long as he puts on the weight he needs to. At Juco he wasn’t able to eat enough to (per him) and i remember when he got here last summer he had a cast on his left arm so he couldn’t really workout like he needed to over the summer. Different story this off season

Bill Connelly did a breakdown recently about which positions’ returning production has the highest correlation with improvement. He found that on offense, returning QB (and WR to a lesser extent) has the biggest correlation to improvement and on defense secondary productions (particularly passes defended) has the biggest correlation.

We’ve got basically everyone coming back in both of those departments, so we’ve got that going for us at least.

yeah, LOS is harder to project for sure, different measurments, not necessarily as quantifiable, and sacks allowed or rushing yards don't always tell the whole story.

so we'll see.

agree with the merit of the post....

And in your defense, I remember you weren’t positive during those days.

We weren’t invited or Welcome like we are now. The interaction with staff, personnel and players is night and day. The atmosphere is like it used to be. The energy in that building is electric. Even last year with the losses, we just chalked them up and went back to work.

I can’t stress this enough, I want Pruitt to succeed and stay at UT for a LONG time. He is what we need on the hill. If he gets some depth, and wins here, it could be magical a few times over.

We have to be patient.

Random question. Is Roman Harrison a better prospect than Jacquez Smith was? Both seem to be high school monsters that don’t have a ton of room for physical growth.

Im kind of new to recruiting but do we normally take a high amount of PWOs? I genuinely have no idea, but it seems like Pruitt is building up depth through awesome PWO kids & saving the known scholly spots for 2020.
This is something new with Pruitt. He's trying to build competition and this is one way to get it done under the current rules. Nebraska made a living off their walk on program when they were in their glory days.
