It's Vol fans online version of Cheers. When this thread was created originally, it was good to have a place to just talk about football in general. As it has evolved through the years it has turned into Forest Gump's box of chocolates. On this page alone we have posts about bald men shaving their heads, dogs, cats, bots and Jose Can-u-see talking alien crap after years of roid/drug abuse and baseballs bouncing off his head.
Gotta love it.
Honestly I need to hear it then, because I cannot find any proof Barnes said anything about Memphis flopping. Not on Vol Calls, not during the post-game interview which is here in it's entirety All WNML Shows On Demand
Penny didn't play much in the NBA, guy was always missing games. Not saying he wasn't a great talent, but if you're not playing you're not playing only 2 full 82 game seasons in his entire career. Avery has a championship at least, just wasn't asked to be a scorer in the league.
I think the flopping comment was on the VolNetwork post game show. What I see on that link is the post game PC with the players for all reporters.
Not going to get into a debate about it, but Penny was a four time All-Star. Even his last year in Orlando where he played 50 games, he averaged 39 minutes a game. He still has a shoe that sells really well. He just gets a little more pub than someone like Avery Johnson.

You're right, I'm not going to get into a debate about Penny & Avery as players...since I wasn't discussing that anyway until you brought it up. Although I do want to point out Avery also had his number retired for the Spurs.
Again regardless of where Barnes allegedly made the comment I cannot find any proof of it.
Frank Martin has taken two perennial also-rans to an Elite Eight and a Final Four...I think a lot more of his ability to run a BB program, than you and pretty much any other nobodies opinion about how he should HC.Haven't paid enough attention to his career to have an opinion on the second part, but I definitely agree with the first part.
If you're a coach, you're the adult in the room and you have to set the example. Berating and diminishing players (if that's what he said-- "You damn MFer, you're the dumbest SOB I've ever coached" type stuff) is completely unacceptable.
Delineating the action from the person is a subtle way of communicating and demonstrating leadership-- an example: "You're an idiot" v. "That's something an idiot would do." If all your language tends to be Part 1, then you're going to lose a lot of respect, very quickly.

Then again you are always the herald of the poor and downtrodden, so your criticism doesn't surprise ne.
He may be the most under appreciated player to ever go through the football program. Top-notch human being who goes out there and plays his ass off every Saturday behind some of the worst Olines in football, just to be ridiculed by half of the fanbase.Hard not to like Broadway Jay. Even if he never becomes a superstar, I appreciate him.
Yes on finnebaum he questioned why they are taking all these coaches that have shown nothing as coaches to be analyst aka botch . He also was accused by some dude from nc of being s tn homer and just chuckled at him.I just heard that Mike Stoops was joining Saban's staff. I'm not sure if it's true, but if it is all I can say is.

So a shift to something more important.
Bald men, how do you get your heads slick? I've tried a few different razors & cream/gel etc. Still seem to miss spots or not get super close.
A straight razor in the barber chair is best, but I ain't exactly wanting to spend that coin every 2-3 days to maintain. Is Nair worth a look?
