Ahh great bball win, let's check the old HT thread...

What a quick turn of events. Completely out of it now? SMH

I hate to say it because years ago I resolved never to succumb to defeatism, but the look on that kid's face holding the NC hardware while wearing a Gump uniform, told me we beef hooked.

Not to mention Saban's aces in the hole, the Tagovailoas.

He may be short and effeminate, but he's crafty little SOB, that Saban.

The VQ guys have been critical of the staff and some of the ways they've handled certain recruitments and perhaps misreading where they were with the prospect.

Maybe they did that here and thought that by having the last in home visit they could overcome the Alabama visit?

@Atlanta VOL warned us earlier in the week. :(

Interesting. Have not heard the same from 247.

One thought...some are Bama recruiters. They are used to having the advantage every time...also not used to recruiting AGAINST Bama, ie Toots, Bogle, Eboigbe. Thinking we are ahead, but not really.

Wait a minute now. Vq podcast today glowed about this staff as recruiters. They did say IMPLY this class will be less than stellar w/o a backer.

Oh well.

I still like the class even if we miss on both.

sure it's pretty good, but more versatile 3-4 backers was a huge need and I agree with him this would be a bit dissapointing. DL was a bit of a miss too (long-term). On the flip, OL may have been our penultimate need and we addressed it very, very, very well.

Hoping 2020 is a big breakthrough class. We really have to kick into another gear, because uga is whooping everyone on the trail and UF has a master developer.

Dude...by 22 on the road... also, F kentucky.

We are supposed to get last visit but it seems like thats not a done deal anymore after his bama visit went so well.
His visit for us went great and so did Bama. I guess it’s all about who got the players last visit these days. I’ll take it with a grain of salt.

Great win against a terrible SC? Lol. I would call it a decent win. Easily expected.
U know I love ya, BOT. But, I wouldn't call USC a terrible team. 'Cocks are an average team that has gotten off to a really good start in the SEC. 5-1 in the SEC until we beat the sh!t out of 'em in Columbia. USC and their early season success in the SEC after a Vol beat down reminds me of that 80s song that said something like, " back to life, back to reality". The line was 9ish and we more than doubled it. We won
easily, whether expected or not, we looked like the #1 team in the country and knocked USC down to their rightful place as a pretender in the SEC race.

It all factors in.

True. My point is that what UT and Bama can offer is similar. We don't offer the Poly connection and that's a big deal for his family feeling comfortable. Add in recent success and they outweigh our favorable depth chart. HT can't declare for 3 years so possibly sitting a bit doesn't really hurt him...see various Bama players who wait their turn , get a ring or two then ball out for a year and get drafted high.

Better possibility for success and less risk of injury in their formula right now...sucks but gonna take us a couple more years to be there.
