Do you all remember coach Majors interview after the game. My buddy had a satellite dish and had it recorded. It was a couple of hours after the game. He had obviously already had a couple of drinks because he was slurring his words and acting overly jolly even for Johnny. I don't think that interview aired locally. Those old satellites would just keep going as long as the cameras were on. It was always funny listening to the announcers during commercials. Man I miss Coach Majors. I was at coach Fulmer's last game and me and my son was walking to the stadium and I heard a strangely familiar voice say "Young man can you show me where gate 21 is?" It was Coach Majors, he walked with me and my son for about 10 minutes until we reached gate 21, stopping along the way to wave and shake hands with people. He was as fun to talk to in person as he is to listen to on the radio. Oh yea, of coarse after all of this my son, who was about 8 and could care less about sports, looks at me and says "Dad who was that old dude?"still got a souvenier Cotton Bowl hat that plays Rocky Top. lol.

nah, don't remember that. i was a kid. maybe 16 or 17 when i went to that game. it was our christmas present from my grandfather. the whole family went to the game. my aunt and uncle lived in Dallas, so we spent Christmas there, not knowing we were going to the game....anyway, aunt, uncle, grandparents, mom, dad, cousins, brothers....we had a great time.Do you all remember coach Majors interview after the game. lol.And yet you're 1-3 against Arkansas since 2006.
lol.
as if that were the only thing that mattered. you're basically saying you're better than one of the worst teams over the last decade or so in the SEC....more simply put...'we're better than a team that's been on it's worst run in program history'
you know how i know Arkansas sucks?
Because that's your bar.
You made the entire point of my OP. Tennessee has nothing to offer that Arkansas can offer as well. Both teams have been bad recently. Both teams have great facilities. Both locations (Fayetteville and Knoxville) are beautiful areas of the country.
I did not come here to run down Tennessee, but some yahoo a few pages ago decided to comment on something he knows nothing about. He's never been to Fayetteville. Heck, I bet he's never been to Knoxville.
i've been to both. and i don't have any issue with Fayetteville. my grandfather played basketball for arkansas. You made the entire point of my OP. You keep wanting to talk about history but you want to be very selective as to make your team look good, fact that you want to look at the last decade but fail to acknowledge the last 100 years is laughable... and on top of all that UT had more that double the wins that y'all had last year. Heck in our historically bad season we had last year (4-8 for the first time in program history) we still had double the wins the Pigs had this year, so give it a rest, you have no legs to stand on and the fact that you think you do just makes Arky and their fans even more laughableYou made the entire point of my OP. They have pretty good trout fishing as well, but East Tennessee beats them at that too. We have The Clinch, Holston and all those streams in the Smokies. The dudes that came up with the Trout and Crappie Magnet are from Arky, so they have that going for them. They’re the same. That’s a good comparison. But at least KY has basketball. Arkansas has.... duck hunting?

Sorry if I missed it, but I didn't want to scroll through 10 pages of this thread I missed lol, but does anyone know who the latest crystal ball was for Russell? Saw it was put in by Wiltfong
No, we are still believing we can and will return to the 90s. Just because we don't expect to stay where we are doesn't mean we are unaware. Just because other teams' fans don't expect us to return to the 90s doesn't make them completely aware and all-knowing. Just sit back and watch.
Arkansas doesn't have the players Clemson has and most likely never will, so it doesn't really matter who they pattern themselves after. They're still Arkansas.
This might be the best recruiting class they’ve ever had and they are ranked 22 and filled with players nobody else in the SEC wanted
i've been to both. and i don't have any issue with Fayetteville. my grandfather played basketball for arkansas.
but this comparison of programs doesn't hold water, and any attempt to do so is made in vein by your attempts to brag about your record against the worst TN football teams.......................ever.
as my point illustrates, that's your bar. and for no other reason, that's why you don't, and won't, compare to TN football.
it has zero to do with the cities involved. is anyone here going to tell you that Tuscaloosa, AL is better than Knoxville? Hell, i'd say there's half a dozen cities in the SEC that would rank ahead of Tuscaloosa or Auburn or Starkville. that has zero to do with it.
is fayetteville pretty? yep. have i ever vacationed in NW arkansas? yep. love the area.
doesn't have a thing to do with your football program and where it fits in comparison to UT.
