'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

"He is a hard kid to read. My gut tells me he ends up at Tennessee. I mean he is from there and they get last visit. But A&M feels good about him and Arkansas feels a guarded good too. Chief and his parents went to church together this morning and let the kid sleep in. He is a nice kid. Hogs really want him and Lakia to close out this class. "

Arkansas patterns itself after Clemson, the reigning national champions. The offense is the same and defensive approach is the same.

You think kids care about tradition? It is a what-have-you-done-lately generation. Tradition is for us old fans.

He called Chavis the G.O.A.T.

Checkmate.
Yes, but will Chavis be there in a couple of years? Doubt it.

Except there isn't a huge difference. Both locations are gorgeous. Everyone has nice facilities. Fanbases are passionate. What it will probably come down to is his relationship with the coaching staff of each school. What can Tennessee show Russell that Arkansas can't?
Does this place of Arkansas have this??? 🤔 240px-102_0459.JPG

Arkansas have any of these?

For the record, Arkansas did win a NC in 1964 when Majors was on the Frank Broyles staff. Jerry Jones and Jimmy Hairdoo played on that team.

I went to school in Knoxville, and lived in Fayetteville for a year. Fayetteville is a beautiful place, and a great place to live. I've lived many places, and it is my favorite place I have ever lived (outside of Tennessee). It is more like Knoxville than any other SEC school.
I have to confess, I like Fayetteville and the surrounding area too.

Apparently Russell wants to go to school with his brother. His brother would get more scholarships an cheaper tuition going to TN, being instate. Haven't seen that mentioned here yet, but that could be big in getting this guy wearing orange next year.
I believe his brother has been offered as preferred walkon at our University of Tennessee. This may the one thing that puts us over the top

Back when your football team was relevant.

Oh, we'll be back in football soon. I firmly believe that. However, I think Arkansas will still be irrelevant in football as they have been for 50 years. Arkansas has a history of choking in the few big games it's played (Texas in 1969, Tennessee in 1998, etc.). They even lost a Sugar Bowl to Ohio State after the Buckeyes were like 0-10 in bowl games vs.SEC school. Arkansas has a nice middling program, nothing more.
