Scholarships are given yearly, end of story. Rarely does a school “pull” a scholarship, but they can.

Not quite. Some are singles, some are multiple (since 2012). They used to be able to pull a scholly (pre 2015) but p5 conferences no longer can (g5s, d2, and d3 can IF they have not adopted the autonomous conferenes legislation).

THOSE are the facts. You all are plain misinformed.

Proof from a few years ago that some kids are on multis, some on multis vs singles:
Schools can give out 4-year athletic scholarships, but many don't

UT at the time gave zero multis. OSU gave 104. UF was 2nd most.

Saw we had a PWO recruit visit today. Anyone else think PWOs become a bigger part of our recruiting strategy with the new walk-on scholarhip rules? Seems a lot of in-state diehard UT kids, 2 and low 3 stars, might go for it.
What’s the new walk-on scholarship rules?

The refs let WVU play very physical. Many fouls that we would get called against us weren’t called.
Has been my biggest complaint in BB and FB. I don't expect refs to see everything and I know that I will have fan bias.
But there has been a clear lack of consistency in games and not just UT games.

From the NCAA itself:

"MULTI-YEAR SCHOLARSHIP REFORMS – 2015

The Autonomy Five conferences voted to guarantee that athletic scholarships cannot be canceled for poor athletics performance."

https://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2018DIAut_FourYearsofHelpforStudent-Athletes_20170118.pdf

Procedures 100% changed. You may notice 15.3.5.1 COMPLETELY changed. Of course, I'm sure you are familiar with this change.

Simply put, read the bylaws if you want straight facts. You will find no restrictions pre 2015. Afterward you will find restrictions for autonomous conferences. You will know their legislation for an "[A]" after the bylaw. But I'm sure you already know that since you know the rules so well lol.

Yes I am very familiar with the rules. Cute new wording that changed nothing other than making the ncaa appear to be more student athlete friendly.
I worked in this world for a long time.
So yea I know the rules and those rules have always been a coach can't fail to renew a scholarship for athletic purposes.

It happened so much the perception was it was legal for coaches to do it but players have always been able to appeal if they choose to do so and discipline issues were the only basis for a coach being able to not renew $.

It’s like that too in my neck of the woods. Turkey too.

We really need to be working on more technology to save them and our cars. Just had two friends total their cars out last week.

I wonder if a high-pitched sound that's inaudible to humans would get them to move?

Moose and elk are far worse. They are so tall that they come crashing through your windshield and driver & the animal are both dead. I don't know the statistics, but when I lived in Canada there were drivers killed every year after hitting a moose.

I know they have devices that are supposed to do that but not sure about effectiveness.
Night time is the worst. There's a reason poachers use "spotlighting". Something about lights just makes them freeze.

@Smokey123 hope no one was injured and the damage wasn't too bad.

Yep! If the refs let Kentucky play as physical against us as they did against Kansas last night, I think we have a difficult time beating them. They were roughing Kansas players up… Over the back numerous times on rebounds, mauling them on shots around the rim, etc.

hated the start of the game yesterday, and while i think we really stepped up on the defensive end after they had their little hot streak, i don't think WVU is a very good offensive team to begin with. then their leading scorer gets hurt....it should have been a 20 point game, and it was...so mission accomplished.

3 things i was glad to see...Turner had a day, very glad to see that, and he was key in getting the game back under control, offensively. Admirial looks like he started to get his groove back. Rick Barnes has this team's attention. you can see it in some of these guys' faces when he starts in on them, and he just shuts down the excuses, and ultimately you see the "yes sirs" start to come out....i respect Barnes for being unwavering, regardless of who the player is, and i respect the players for being smart enough to take the coaching.

2nd half of hte schedule picks up...@ usce will be a tough game. LSU and KY are no joke, and MSU, Ole Miss and GA are all proving capable at this point in the season.

hope we get back to our pre season and early conf form. we're gonna need it down the stretch.

Got to take my oldest to his first game at TBA yesterday. Highlight was after the game Jeff Jarnigan (PA announcer) gave a signed copy of his prompt sheet to my son. He doesn’t quite know what it is but talked about it all last night.

SIAP but I heard Gray and someone else’s name got mentioned on PA after everyone that was there got introduced. Didn’t hear what was said, but maybe it’s as simple as he was out of town. 72DAD1AB-66ED-4671-92EA-B2E8EEDC5D31.jpeg

1st awesome man.

2nd apparently Gray had a surgery, pre scheduled accordingly to Price. No worries.

Crouch was at a shooting range? (said on here). Seemed a little odd to miss the intro but not interested in unnecessary concern.

I bet you're a lot of fun at parties.

Those hoodies!!! Need. Also did anyone else lol at the frosh already in a walking boot 😆
Hoodies are 🔥. Definitely did not lol at an injury. Probably cleaning up a previous injury since he is here now with excellent doctors looking after. That happens alot and should. Get it out of the way quickly so they can put their all into training hard. Imo

And you don't think our boys would play with some aggression vs KY? They most definitely will play with a different attitude vs a KY than a Vandy type team.

This is why our kids will always have a chip because our own fans still don't believ in them vs blue bloods

How about will Wade at LSU? I recall some wanting him here at one point. He has LSU playing good ball

Very good coach. He is great floor coach and good recruiter also. If he stays at LSU for a long period of time I think they will be a top 25 team year in and out

Yeah, I saw a show about moose in Maine and New Hampshire. Crazy stuff.

I lived in Montana growing up. Elk in the little towns outside of Yellowstone were a problem (like chilling out on people’s porches).

As far as the inaudible siren, or something of that ilk, I’ve thought and wondered that same thing. This could be our millionaire opportunity....

I think you're right. When our dogs bark at night I bring out our DeWalt flashlight, and any deer and elk freeze momentarily. "Maybe he won't see me if I'm still?" Then after maybe ten seconds they get annoyed and start moving. A car would have been on them already.
