We can’t underestimate Peyton’s effect on Tennessee football. His talent was one thing, but the players that came to Tennessee because of him was, to me, the biggest impact and what made us so strong at the time.

With Reggie it was more of a culture thing too. If you talk to some of the old tops around the building they will tell you He changed the entire direction of the program the moment he stepped on campus too.

Said the Saints were virtually running a single-wing formation with Hill and that his former coach at UT, Majors ran the single-wing and finished 2nd for the Hesiman Trophy. Been thinking that. I for one believe that everything happens for a reason (divine interference). We may not understand why at the time (maybe never), but it all works out in the end. 5-7 season, got rid of butch. Now we got a BA football staff. Ya'll get my drift.

Yes he was. Met him once as he spoke at out frat house (he was a brother) in the early 70's. Very imposing person and personality. Told some great stories. So many great VOLS it is hard to name a top 3 or even 10 (my opinion)

I shook his hand once in my early twenties. I'm 6'3 and back then 210 pounds and he towered over me, probably outweighed me by close to 100 pounds(then). But the most amazing thing to me was how his hand devoured mine. I have never seen hands that big in person. I was kinda star-struck and all I said to him was that my Granddaddy said he was the best defensive player he had ever seen
