I disagree. If you are going to kick it deep, at least pooch it into the void between the deep man and the 10 up front. You might just beat them to it.

I think time might have come into play with kicking it into the endzone. It was close to the two minute warning and they wanted it to be key

Siap but has anyone discussed why the cowboys didnt onside kick at after their last score? How stupid was that?
They had 3 timeouts and the two minute warning in their pocket down 8. If they were going to win, the defense was going to have to step up at some point. Since the NFL changed the rules, an already low percentage play became even more so. Field position was important...why give them the ball around midfield when if you made a stop you get the ball back in decent field position with time left and timeouts available? Not stupid at all.

I never said effective. Making that unit effective would definitely be asking too much. Too small and not strong enough.

Bet being effective and not blowing assignments aren’t exactly the same thing. You don’t have to be big or strong to know your assignment and not let a defender through untouched. Even our guys like Smith (who definitely wasn’t lacking in the size/strength department) struggled with just knowing who to block a way too often.

I understand but Trey was not the same guy. Had shortness of breath issues and couldn’t get into the shape he wanted. Friend is a good OL coach just dealt a bad handball around. Kennedy was a blow as was Trey and then shuffle city.

If the D did their job, they would’ve got the ball back with one time out and about a minute and a half on the clock and ball on 30. Right play and D failed. Only 4 onside kicks recovered this year.

I thought they said only 2 had been recovered.
Either way a very low chance

View attachment 188811 i don’t know who this guy knows that’s a insider but since I started following him on twitter, he seems to be pretty accurate

I’m on mobile and can’t tell but two things....

1. I am disappointed in the Vets around here not educating him more quickly ;) I see two posts, you guys are slacking.

2. sneaker that guy is about as connected as my dog when it comes to anything UT. He is and always will be one of the biggest jokes around here and anywhere when it comes to UT. He is a borderline stalker who has in the past sent “love letters” to recruits. Look up Sabannochio Jesse Scroggins and that’s all you need to know.

I dont think field position mattered much at that point.
