Based on the actual constituents of the Republic it’s the correct vote count.
Who ratified the constitution. Show me the popular vote. You do realize that there is no use of the word "republic" in the Constitution. The Constitution does use the word "republican" once, but there it only guarantees that each state shall have a republican form of government. The idea that the states--as opposed to the citizens--are the primary constituents of the United States is hogwash.
You never know, a sense of fairness and doing what is right occasional slips in. Men were willing to "diminish" their votes by granting women an equal vote. Whites were willing to "diminish" their votes by granting non-whites an equal vote. On rare occasions, people vote to do the right thing even when it is not in their self-interest. I know, that's a foreign concept for you.Who ratified the constitution. Show me the popular vote.
Your argument has zero juice and you know it so you keep deflecting to meaningless “points”.
France uses Universal Suffrage. We do not. And based on the method required to get states to diminish their vote I’ll bet big money we never do.
U Lose Again!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!You never know, a sense of fairness and doing what is right occasional slips in. Men were willing to "diminish" their votes by granting women an equal vote. I’m not ignoring them at all. Women’s suffrage was the correct thing to do for our citizens. Abolishment of the EC is the absolute wrong thing to do for individual states equal footing in the Republic. If anything it needs to go to one vote per state. That's a good way of avoiding the fact that there have been multiple amendments passed where people have voted to in essence diminish their own vote. Doing the right thing can lead to some unexpected results.
Crap like what? Attempting to improve the constitution through legal ways? That is a load of crap.
No you didn’t. You lectured us on why we’re wrong and used appeals to authority and an incorrect form of our actual government as a basis to validate your BS.Luther, I've tried engaging them. It's not going to work. They know their only way to hold on to power is to cling to, and if possible enhance, anti-democratic mechanisms that will continue to allow them to punch above their weight.

After all... “there have been multiple amendments passed where people have voted to in essence diminish their own vote. Doing the right thing can lead to some unexpected results.”![]()

SSDD from you.
"Butthert" may be the most overused, juvenile, and meaningless term in the English language. You're just butthurt that Donald Trump won the electoral college.
No I’m definitely right. And the amendment process of the constitution says I’ll be right for a long time. What’s your 38 state vote count to say I’m wrong. You're wrong, and more and more people see that you are wrong.
Abolishment of the EC is the absolute right thing to do. Individual states keep an equal footing by having equal power in the senate. In elections, all votes are equal.
And I’ve rejected your argument as having any validity multiple times and provided references why I’m right. I believe the entire basis of your argument is wrong. We do not utilize universal suffrage and never will. We utilize an EC.I explained that the EC was anti-democratic (as it treats the voting power of people differently based on where they live) and does not serve the purpose for which it was created (as a check on the excesses of populism/mob rule). The members of the college were intended to exercise independent judgment in casting their vote, the same way that a senator or representative is supposed to exercise independent judgment once elected. That would have been a real check on electing someone as unqualified and erratic as Trump. But as the EC operates in fact, it's no check at all. All it does is occasionally let the less popular candidate win based on where people live.
