The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Another 7-9 win season probably puts them out of position to draft a franchise QB. Then it's break the bank, which they've never done, or trade away the future. Buzz kill but the best path forward is probably 0-16 in 2019.

Lol...you don’t need to go 0-16 to draft a franchise QB. Hell, the Chiefs were a playoff team the year they traded up for Mahomes at #10.

But truthfully speaking, this year’s titans team (and last year to a similar extent) clawed it’s way to 9 wins with gritty play and tough defense. And as commendable as it is, that style of play just isn’t sustainable these days.

Unless Mariota and our pass offense take a major step forward in 2019, and I’m not holding my breath, I foresee a sub .500 season.

A lot of coaches losing their jobs.

One positive I will say about this season is I thought Vrabel did an overall very good job, especially with the defense.

I know people don’t want to hear it after last nights debacle, but getting this team to a winning season with a fragile pseudo-franchise QB and some debilitating injuries had to have been tough sledding. I tip my hat to him.

If they want Tua, Fromm, or the guy from Oregon, they will probably need a top 5 pick.

Ha just accept it. No drama. That played on the field last night.

Accept what? 3 straight winning seasons and a playoff victory?

It was a ****** ending to the season no doubt, but relax guys. The sun will rise tomorrow lol

Regarding the Colts owning the Titans, I mean yeah, but hell, there was a time when the Dolphins owned the Patriots lol. It’s just the ebs and flows of the league. The Colts happened to fall ass backwards into 2 straight generational QBs, and while that sucks for us, it just is what it is.

Titans have been irrelevant for a long time. No threat to any playoff team. Sad but true

I'm pretty sure they did everything they could to make sure they got the second one. Oakland has undoubtedly tanked this year. No reason the Titans can't ole a season if there is a good chance of getting a generational QB.

Derrick Henry only had 16 carries last night for 93 yards.

Dion Lewis had non.

If ever there was a time for Henry to get 30 carries in a game last night was it. They ran the Wildcat with Henry I think 3 or 4 times and he never handed it off. They knew all week that Mariota probably wouldn't play so it would have been nice to have seen some imagination out of that like running the option out of that with him and Lewis and maybe hand it to one of the receivers on the jet sweep a couple of times.

I know I have no control over contracts but no way should Mariota get a max contract . I would rather us not resign him over signing him to a 6 year insane money contract

Titans opponents for 2019:

Home: Jaguars, Colts, Texans, Chargers, Chiefs, Bills, Buccaneers, Saints

Away: Jaguars, Colts, Texans, Broncos, Raiders, Browns, Falcons, Panthers

NFC South plus AFC West...and Cleveland and Buffalo
