Probably a little more advanced than the artificial turf with pellets I skied on in Ober Gatlinburg in the early 80s while wearing shorts. That was painful.

Real turf is best. I imagine some dystopian future where all grass is extinct and there’s nothing but plastic grass. Even on golf courses and in people’s lawns. Because it’s more economical. Then we all suffocate, collapsing, and softly bouncing off the recycled tire lawns. Sad!

Well now I’m depressed

My guess is somewhere close to half of the games were on turf for the Knights last summer. Grand Park in IN and Lakepointe in GA plus Vandy, Rose Park, etc in Nashville. Kids are used to it. Pitchers like throwing off a clay mound maybe, but I haven't heard too many complaints about the turf. Baseball turf is a little different than football turf and designed to play like real grass. The only reason to have it though is more time on the field and fewer rainouts, both of which the Vols need.
