The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Tell me what about this team says playoffs/Superbowl our secondary sucks our linebackers are average, we have no pass rush, our o line isnt good, we have 1 reciever with potential, a soft QB and an awful back up, and 2 running backs

Secondary does not suck. Actually pretty solid especially with Ryan.

We need to improve with pass rushers and guards on the oline. All back up QBs are awful which is why they are back ups.

Mariota seems to be Jake Locker 2.0 when it comes to injuries.

Get a quarterback that can back up Mariota. Didn’t they learn in the 1st half that they couldn’t score with Gabbert? Put someone else in, even if it was a wide receiver throwing the ball, anyone.

You know we are are so coming down hard on Gabbert, me included but you know what? He shouldn't even be playing right now, you know who should? Mariota, it was his decision. Word around Nashville being leaked is that he elected not to play.

I was up in the air about Mariotta but as time goes by I can't help but think we made a mistake. I wonder if we could put together a package to trade for a couple of picks this year and sign a mediocre QB to a two or three year deal and draft our guy a year or two down the road.

Wasted season. Titans fire the head coach who took them to the second round of the playoffs. We are essentially the same run- first offense as last season, and everyone knew it was playoffs or bust with a coaching change for this season.

If only Mularkey would have fired his OC I wouldn't have opposed bring him back. I'm not really sure why we made a change either when essentially we were the same team last year with Vrabel at the helm.

Agreed on the secondary. Players are fine minus Butler. Scheme sucks however.

Absolutely this. By far the biggest weakness.

Yep. We have to stop drafting running QBs. Need a pocket passer.

We need to move on from Mariota. He's got talent but fragile as my 12 year old daughter. He doesn't want it..... Isn't tough enough.

If this is at all true he shouldn’t even be given next year. I can put up with a lot but a quitter has no place here. I just can’t imagine Mariota not going if he could, unless it was all about career preservation knowing full well he wasn’t going to be staying here.

As usual the Titans never cease to find ways to lose to Luck whether old or new.

A remarkable disappointment that had soul crushers in the 4th including the int when the lead was 7 points.

That is part of it, he was told he could risk further injury.

Quit. Hes just wants to be a glorified backup and get paid. Has no interest in being a starter with a pair.

Ok, but when a team decides a player’s too injured to play...it’s out of his hands. They view him as an investment and if the doctors think it’s an injury that poses a bigger risk if he gets hurt again, they shut it down and they’re the final word...no matter how much Mariota might or might not protest it or actually be for or against it, especially with NFL teams, suits, and liabilities in situations where they would have intentionally overlooked a “too-bad-to-play” injury they knew about and a player ended up getting a much worse injury.

I mean, I guess he could have publicly thrown a fit, but that wouldn’t have really done much...unless it went to such a level that it got him fired.

Anyways I'm out fellas. Looking forward to free agency and the draft (which I have hotel rooms booked just hoping I'll get tickets).

The fo has bungled this roster two years in a row, handled the draft last year like we were two pieces away from being contenders and the to pieces we were getting were impact players.

We ended up with two projects when what we would have been better served with depth.

Don't lose to the Bill's and we are not in this spot. Coach needs to get these guys ready every week

No we still would be.

We would have been 10-5 going into this game, ended 10-6 with the loss, and the Colts would still have had the tiebreaker.

We’d have needed to beat the Bills and kick the dang extra point at the end of the Chargers game (when we’ve pretty much shut down their offense for most of the game) before beating them in overtime.

He definitely gets next year IMO. 5th year option. Plus this upcoming QB class is a joke. But I would be putting him and “his people” on notice in pretty short order. He has done absolutely nothing in 4 years to warrant a new deal.
