Yea but they’re actually in a P5 conference, and it’s not their fault the rest is bad.

Either don’t penalize teams for not being in a P5 conference or hold ND to the same standard as you would with UCF and other small schools.

I mean, army went 10-2 and took Ou to OT and the playoff committee didn’t even rank them
I'm not trying to prove a point, just stating facts.

Don’t hate Pruitt at all. Just think he’s gotta do a lot of things different/better.

Keeping his teams from quitting is #1. Job #1 as a coach is getting your team ready to play and have them play hard.

If I had to gripe about this past season, I would say that Pruitt got tired of losing, and just started focusing on strength and conditioning, and recruiting. Now, moving forward, that will probably pay dividends. I just don't think Pruitt cares much whether we are 5-7 or 6-6, and going to a lower tier bowl. We will thank him later.

Lots of revisionist history on this board
There is. Included in that LOTS is the suggestion that Butch left us loaded with talent. He did recruit and land some talented playmakers on both sides of the ball. He loaded up on garbage on the OL to the effect that Trey Smith didn’t make it passable. I disagree with some personal narratives against the man but the only coach he outperformed was Dooley.

Who tf said Butch left us a loaded roster?

Clemson would beat UCF by 50
Maybe. Doesn't mean they don't deserve playoff consideration. Every year they put someone in that gets blown out. Notre dame may get beat by 50. They thought Auburn would beat UCF by 50 last year. Maybe Notre dame just isn't motivated like Auburn last year.

For the record, this year I didn't have a problem with the teams that got in. The problem is they don't even consider UCF. It's obvious they were artificially pushing them down when a 2 loss Michigan just got destroyed and was still ranked ahead of them. Then got destroyed by Florida. There were 3 straight weeks during the season where UCF won and a team coming off a loss had a bye week and jumped UCF in the polls without playing. How does a team that doesn't play and has a loss jump an undefeated team that played and won? Because they didn't want UCF to be ranked high enough where if other teams lost, they would have to put them in. It's cool though. I know most of y'all won't agree with me.

Side note: their qb that had that horrific knee dislocation on Thanksgiving is about to have his 5th surgery to repair arteries and nerves and is due to have full knee reconstructive surgery in a few months. But he is moving around already and travelled with the team to the fiesta bowl. They thought it may be a career ender but they now think he'll be able to play again.

Dooleys first class looking back on it was awesome. 9 NFL caliber players. (Counting Rogers imo)

Da’rick Roger
Justin hunter
Juwuan James
Tyler bray
James Stone
Zach Fulton
Mychal rivera
Michael palardy
Matt darr
Kiffin had locked most of those guys up. Dooley sealed the deal but based on his other classes it’s clear that he wouldn’t have gotten those guys if he had had the entire year. I mean the guy didn’t even call von bell. I liked Dooley but his recruiting is what cost him his job
