The roster was afflicted with a ton of gutless wonders. I saw them get up for two games and that was it. They flat out refused to play against Mizzou and Vandy. That is apparent to anyone who can see and think.

We lost to some of the best offenses in college football: Mizzou, Bama, GA, and WV. Against Fl we turned the ball over 8 times and almost all their points came on drives they began inside the red zone. You need to look at the games and no make dumb blanket statements like this. There’s a reason why we had true freshmen starting at DB and why our OL averaged about 285 lbs. we were horrible on the OL. The auburn game everything clicked for one game. Pruitt knows their offense and was able to shut it down and JG played his best game as a Vol. I don’t know what to tell you

Jmo, I think he was a good recruiter and OK coach who made some key mistakes that cost him and he just can’t handle the pressure of a job like TN. Belongs somewhere like Maryland, Kansas, Vandy, UK, ect.

“I would say Jones and here's why. Jones' relentless has been more than just making a splash.

Certainly they did with a motorcade to Malone's house and other things. But Butch writes recruits notes all year long. There are some weeks he will write a kid 5 days a week. He writes, texts, direct messages, recruits every day of the year. When he wasn't on the phone or doing an interview on Wednesday, he was writing prospects handwritten notes.

So I would say Jones because it's not just the flashy stuff that he does, but it's also the little details that he doesn't miss.

Good question and Kiffin was/is relentless as well. I'm not going to sell him short of that. But Jones' commitment to the details is impressive.”

We had good classes and players the problem is you can't compete in the SEC based off of talent alone the guys have to be developed. Butch's problems 100 percent were game day coaching and player development, or more accurately lack thereof.

I think he didn’t know how to handle elite players attitudes. Assuming letting players slack off in meetings and workouts is true. Can’t do that... which resulted in lack of development and massive amount of injuries. It seems players developed well from 2013 to 2015, then everything stalled and unraveled super fast

I have no problem with hating butch or thinking he wasn’t good. But some people on here, especially bass wanna act like he was the worst coach ever and couldn’t beat out SMU for a recruit. It’s garbage

Dooleys first class looking back on it was awesome. 9 NFL caliber players. (Counting Rogers imo)
