I know what honor is, thank you. I just view sports as entertainment, as a game, because that’s what it is. You don’t have to take everything in life so seriously. There are plenty of problems in this world, we don’t need to create ones that don’t exist. Sports and other entertainment outlets are intended to be an escape from those, not an extension. This isn’t war, and I despise the comparisons to soldiers and battles. Sports are an escape from that reality, so let them be.
Your last two posts are actually good points...gotta give you that. I just don't think standing over a beaten player and taunting him is cool. I think it is pigish.

Better hope Pruitt doesn’t get a class of great o-lineman and a couple of great lbs to go with his star studded young secondary........ O wait.. that’s about to happen

F*** Florida and F*** dan Mullen.....they will never win a natty with him
I love many of the beaches and resort areas but F*** all their universities!

There are extremes, sure. And taunting an injured player is never ok. But turning around and looking back at someone while holding a football in your outstretched hand is neither of those. If you are concerned the action may make him more likely to fumble, deal with that at the coaching level. Otherwise, how is that action harmful to anyone?

Honor is calling people disgusting freaks and jackasses for having a different opinion?

Maybe one day we can be as honorable as you
I called you guys jackasses for assuming that because I am here on VN talking about this, not telling you about anybody in particular, that I treat these people badly, which I do not, I treat the worst of them with dignity and respect regardless of my disgust. But your opinion of me means less than nothing to me, you despise me and have for a long time. Now get off my back.

Don't think this has anything to do with honor in the world. Taunting or not taunting in a game doesn't make you honorable or not. How you treat them in the world outside the game makes you honorable or not. There are plenty of honorable people who would taunt someone in a game. And there are plenty of people who think taunting is terrible who are terrible to their fellow man outside the game.
I don't disagree with everything you say, I just feel differently about taunting.

Once again let me reiterate that I do not equate celebrating great plays, no matter how stupid I think they are, to taunting.

How are a mulititude of the inconsiderate rude piggish behaviors in this world actually harmful?..there are literally thousands of examples..

On the field there are rules governing this behaviour, he knew the rules and still didn't give a crap. It was more important to him to taunt Purdy and look like a damn fool, than to go about his and his teams business. On the field being a pig can cost you.

And quit pickin' on my guy Ulysees over here. We all have foot-in-mouth disease sometimes. Don't assume the worst about folks based on an internet argument.

Unless Ulysees deserves it. I haven't read through anything since last night.
In truth I probably deserve some of it, I have a bad habit of typing the first thing that pops in my head..

Gets mad online at people for assuming..

Proceeds to assume (incorrectly) multiple things in the post complaining about it.

Never change buddy

You would like me if you were ever around me, I lead my company in requests by clients for me to be their driver, and I also did at the company I worked for before, for one reason...I care about them, and treat them better than anybody else does, even the folks that make me gag like the ones I drove yesterday that literally had dirt caked on their face, and smelled so bad I had to scrub my van down with lysol to get the stench out afterwards.

Excuse my extreme defensiveness towards you as you go out of your way all the dang time to jump.on everything I say.

I agree with McGill on this. What the player did should have been called and the punishment was just. It could have cost his team the game. Football is a team sport and you have to think of the blood and sweat given by others before acting like you have done something great. The guy did his job and then made it all about him. His team bailed him out and if they didn't score the touchdown he would have got a lot of publicity. The kind that he wouldn't want.

Plus..I treat these people with more care and respect than any of you jackasses ever would...my disgust with the way they live notwithstanding.
I never said you didn't treat people with honor and respect. I tried to present a counter point to yers in a respectful way. No hard feelings. I just was trying to have a discussion about things we disagree on. Not trying to attack you.
