One of the most important attributes of players in the NFL is their competitiveness. What does it say when you sit out your bowl game? That's a red flag as far as I'm concerned.

It also indicates the “I” is more important than the “Team”. Quitting the first time makes it easier to rationalize quitting the next time.

If you watched the WVU vs Orange game you'd hear the announcers talk about 3 Syracuse players sitting out because they didn't want to risk injury. Of course they talked about Grier also (since that's probably all you guys heard when they were talking about this) there's probably 50 more players sitting out that won't be drafted.

Give me an 8 team playoff and then only bowl games to teams that are ranked.

Every year more and more players are sitting out of these meaningless bowl games

By your model, we'd have seven CFP games with what, 8 or 9 games depending on how you want to round out the other 17 ranked teams.

Rankings already ignore decent G5 teams.

If RPO's are Communism (per Pat Fitzgerald), your bowl system is late stage Capitalism, with all the fun being siphoned up to the top. "Oh, 8-4 G5 team who had the best season in a decade, you weren't ranked, so sit your ass at home and watch the big boys play." And that's supposed to be more fun?

I like you, Catbone, but you're way off on this one.

Anybody watching the WSU/ISU game just got to watch that penalty I was talking about with taunting.

15 yards no touchdown. DON’T TAUNT!

That is such a dumb rule though. The consequences are way disproportionate to the crime. 15 yards on PAT or kickoff would be plenty. Taking the touchdown away is just asinine.

I don’t understand why it is not just considered a 15 Yd penalty and unsportsmanlike (enforced on the extra point) that way he can only mess up once as his warning.
