'19 JUCO DT Savion Williams (Tennessee signee)

Watch the big plays he put on film during his career at Dr. Henry A. Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and they take center stage. The quick feet that made him one of the best two-way linemen in Maryland, an offensive tackle who could protect the quarterback, and a defensive end who could beat the best tackles in one of the nation’s most talent-rich states. The raw strength that enabled him to consistently put linemen on their backs on the bull rush. The fearsome look – a 6-foot-4, 315-pounder with an intimidating glare – that made him a prototypical interior defensive line prospect who caught the eye of a handful of programs who came to Wise toting scholarship offers.

Everything Williams knew to be important trended in the right direction. Only, everything he knew was wrong. Eventually, the colleges ask about grades. They want to see transcripts, no matter how good a football prospect you are. Once Williams’ transcripts went out, the offers were pulled off the table, and the ones that surely would have kept rolling in dried up.

Falcons gave Savion Williams a shot

Our most important signee for 2019?

Eric Gray a close second. But we desperately need a disruptive force on the defensive line.

Does he have 3 years to play 3 or 3 years to play 2. There has been some confusion on this

3 for three. He redshirted his freshman year and fell off some tteams maps. Those keeping tabs on him saw development in the classroom that justified new offers. Played as a RS Frosh and looked like the monster we figured he was gonna be.

The first tape we saw of him was practice before his first season. If you go back in this thread you can see some people early on wondering if we could trust our eyes. Just glad he turned out good.

Morris. Need OL for gray to run behind
Morris may not play this year with that hip thing. Might as well get our heads prepared for that situation. So I see Savion and Middleton as some of most important.

He’ll be fine. If he has surgery he’ll be recovered by the time April gets here. If he just rehabs it’ll be much sooner. It’s not a broken bone, not as serious as it sounds
