I like Sark and would be happy with the hire, it just seems far fetched to me that someone would leave or turn down other NFL opportunities to take any college OC job - let alone one for a team devoid of talent like ours.

I suppose there’s no guarantee he has other NFL options, however. But that would be weird given his offensive stats.

Don’t like his play calling in key situations. They had a decent amount of injuries tho. Hard to follow up what Shanahan did during that SB run too

My guess is they gotta throw someone under the bus and he’s their pick
Fans are fickle but those numbers do not warrant firing. Unless... there is a underlying problem. Maybe Matt doesn’t like him

Unless he’s had enough time in the NFL game to determine he wants to go back through the college route. Seeing as that he would still have to do some career rehab, Tennessee (with a trusted colleague in Pruitt) would be a prime choice.

What NFL opportunities have you heard that he’ll get?

Just the rumblings on ESPN, NFL Network, etc. A lot of people seem to realize the offense isn’t the problem in Atlanta - and that IF he gets fired it’s Dan Quinn doing whatever he can to keep his job, not necessarily because Sark deserves to be fired.

And with that comes the fact that the NFL is largely a retread league. So there’s a lot of thinking out there that Sark might get another chance elsewhere - Seattle has been mentioned because of the Carroll connection.

What are nfl OC’s making nowadays? More than the 1.5 mil we will prob pay?

Here would be my two questions to that:

Why would Jeremy Pruitt want to hire someone knowing they’ll likely jump at the first HC job opportunity? He’s been through that once and I don’t think he likes the uncertainty.

Why would Sark tie his “reputation”, or his “rehab” to a Tennessee team devoid of offensive skillmakers, in a rebuild that will take a couple of seasons at least, with a relatively unknown HC who has the reputation of being largely tough on offensive coordinators? Doesn’t seem like the best bet.

I think most of it was the dropoff from where they were before him fair or not. And imo they may have put up numbers but they didn't really look like a cohesive efficient offense. It seemed like most of the offense was just because of how much talent they have in spite of the play calling. Jmo but the talent could've been used better and maybe should've been a top 5 offense.

This makes sense. Hiring him would be a homerun. My gut (bvs) says he ends up back in the NFL, offense is too good not to.

How can fans make the argument that it’s Sarks fault and obviously, why is he on the chopping block?

Haven’t looked at numbers, but just based on what I remember, I think the Falcons’ red zone offense may be one of their poor categories.

Running game not being good could explain their red zone woes, but overall scoring offense is well above average

Coleman, their #2 but he’s been mostly used as a 3rd down back his career
Tevin Coleman? So he’s been Freeman’s backup and after two games, Freeman got hurt and now this guy’s set to get PAID. Don’t want Sark coaching up backups here.

Could be that he wants back in the college game to land another head coaching job. We can also pay as a top 10 coordinator.

I think the second question helps the first question. Because Tennessee isn’t a quick turnaround fix, it means it would likely ensure 3 years to pad your resume which is more then you’d want in the modern college game. As for Sark, turning Tennessee around makes you look like a hero which lends itself to major college offers, not climbing the ranks through the mid major route, which I’d assume he doesn’t want. All this is predicated on the relationship/friendship Sark and Pruitt have and the conversations they’ve already had.
