For me:
Who you want - Briles (sorry still do)
Who you want us to avoid - Sark...dude is status quo at best
Who you think we'll get - Osovet...and I am very happy with that. I dont get how people say "if he would have been named right away, I would have been good with it, but now I'm not. What difference does it make? Time is a construct, man.
The reason I would hate to see Osovet get the job is because of his lack of experience. We don't need another roll of the dice. We need a cagey, veteran schemer and play caller.

Agreed. 10 is very solid for where we are. But they better coach guys up better than any previous staff or none of this matters.

Understatement. How we are at all relevant, strictly due to our on field product and coaching carousel for the last decade plus, is beyond amazing. Seriously, is there another team in the country that could compare to our ability to stay somewhat relevant with such terrible records and turmoil? Not one of these kids signing has seen a dominant UT team, let alone, a contender. We should be happy for what we have because it could be so much worse than we think it is, or isn't, perception wise.

I would be better with Sark than Osovet but I respect Osovet likely has a higher upside.

I’m fine with Osovet to be honest. I don’t know enough about offensive theory to drag him. He doesn’t have experience at top level football, but that’s not a major issue for me. No one gets experience until they are given a chance

Ok so for OC tell us

Who you want
Who you want us to avoid
Who you think we'll get

For me:
Who you want - Yurcich
Who you want us to avoid - Propst (Osovet but to a lesser extent)
Who you think we'll get - Osovet

Want Sark or Chaney

Avoid Briles and especially Yurcich

Sark is done deal

i'm not apposed to an internal hire though. osovet would probably do a really good job. optics are what they are, but if you get what you want/need, does it really matter when you get it?

Hmmmm
Check out @CoachStiff’s Tweet:

I agree, stars don't matter. To play devil's advocate, if this guy was so good, why wait until signing day to bring him on board? Why not offer him and take his commitment weeks ago? The reason was we missed on others that they liked and were ranked higher ith on their board and the services.

I value creativity and something innovative to some retread OC that runs the same offense from 2002. If its down to Sark or Osovet, give me Osovet all day.

they offered him over the summer....technically.

but yeah, he was a total back up plan. probably would have been offered a PWO if we had gotten ellis, payton, brown or hazelwood...

I never said Sark. But I think it's extremely risky to hire a guy like Osovet to run your offense. The learning curve is steep. Could he do it? Sure, but the odds are stacked against him. It's an extremely risky hire and I'm not sure Pruitt can afford this risk. IMO.

I'm sick of playing it safe and frankly I'm surprised you aren't. Don't you for once want to be on the front of a great decision? We have 2 SEC wins in two years. If there was ever a time to roll dem dice and take a risk, this is it.

I don't think that offer was commitable. I think he was given the green light yesterday. I like guys like this, the ones that come in with a chip on their shoulders.
