The reason I would hate to see Osovet get the job is because of his lack of experience. We don't need another roll of the dice. We need a cagey, veteran schemer and play caller. For me:
Who you want - Briles (sorry still do)
Who you want us to avoid - Sark...dude is status quo at best
Who you think we'll get - Osovet...and I am very happy with that. I dont get how people say "if he would have been named right away, I would have been good with it, but now I'm not. What difference does it make? Time is a construct, man.
Agreed. 10 is very solid for where we are. But they better coach guys up better than any previous staff or none of this matters.
I would be better with Sark than Osovet but I respect Osovet likely has a higher upside.
Hmmmm

I value creativity and something innovative to some retread OC that runs the same offense from 2002. If its down to Sark or Osovet, give me Osovet all day.The reason I would hate to see Osovet get the job is because of his lack of experience. We don't need another roll of the dice. they offered him over the summer....technically.I agree, stars don't matter. To play devil's advocate, if this guy was so good, why wait until signing day to being him on board? Why not offer him and take his commitment weeks ago? The reason was we missed on others that they liked and were ranked higher ith on their board and the services.
I never said Sark. But I think it's extremely risky to hire a guy like Osovet to run your offense. The learning curve is steep. Could he do it? Sure, but the odds are stacked against him. It's an extremely risky hire and I'm not sure Pruitt can afford this risk. IMO.I value creativity and something innovative to some retread OC that runs the same offense from 2002. I don't think that offer was commitable. I think he was given the green light yesterday. I like guys like this, the ones that come in with a chip on their shoulders.they offered him over the summer....technically.
but yeah, he was a total back up plan. probably would have been offered a PWO if we had gotten ellis, payton, brown or hazelwood...
