Recruiting Forum Football Talk [RIP 9.3.2019]

Completely shut down the OC talk. Makes me think it will be a while before we know, which makes me think it could be an NFL guy

Could be the reason for all the Osovet talk - to deflect. Not that his system would not work, it's just a huge career gamble for CJP if he goes that way. Everything points to NFL IMO.

Never said it couldn't be worse.

Am saying today was disappointing based on all the smoke out there.

As homerific as you were in many threads, declaring a lot of these guys Vols, not sure how you don't somewhat feel the same way.

But you should know better by now about smoke. We finish with Gray, Wright and Crouch and then wait and see who CP gets in here by Feb. Today is only the first time to sign there are plenty out there that they can still turn. I'm disappointed that we didn't get some that we thought we were going to get but its not a bad class.

Strongly disagree with you. Just because some people choose to be optimistic, rather than negative all the time does not mean they are talking out two sides of their mouth. It's odd that you feel this way considering you post a lot of updates from TOS, but I guess they were talking out both sides of their mouths as well. If kids tell you one thing and then do another, is there really anything you can do about it? I'm rolling with who we got all day!

wut?

I got no problem with optimism. Hell, have you read the chain in the convo? Brief recap:

Me disappointed.

Others: Why you disappointed?

Me: Was optimistic we'd get some guys then didn't.

Others: Meh they were long shots.

Me: If they were longshots, why'd you post in their respective threads how you expected them to be vols?

dickdodge: You're not god! Don't tell people how to think! Get over yourself!

Me: wtf? Pointing out irony of saying people are Vols pre-NSD, then suggesting they were long shots so wgas post signing.

Hope that helps.

Wright, Crouch, Gray, and any other highly rated prospects who didn't sign today are about to be the equivalent high quality NFL free agents. These guys are going to be offered all kinds of stuff by a lot of resource rich programs. Maybe we get Gray tomorrow. More likely, we're going to have to break some rules and keep our fingers crossed.

So we could sign Crouch this week, but we won't know about it until January. Gray is announcing tomorrow. That's pretty much it for ESD, right?

Pettway is at 4:30, but expect to get him.
Gray tomorrow and Crouch on 1-5-2019. I think that is it unless we get something out of left field that nobody is expecting.

17 signed so that leaves 8 spots
18 E Gray
19 Q Crouch
20 D Wright
21 A Harris
22 L Cox
23 ?
24?
25?
i think at this point if they can, they'd like to keep both Cox and Lakia Henry. so Henry would take up a spot. leaving two left.

but i think we get an opening to fill T Anatounii's spot since he got a medical RS. maybe one more if i remember right?

so if they can keep LH....they're not going to give up on Henry To'oto'o, and i think after that it's gotta be a DL prospect. not sure who though.

if those other two spots are available because of the medical hardship, i think they look at grad transfers for another DL and either QB or LB.

"Dickdodge"...lol again...Ron has a new nickname..😂 Instead of Duke Silver..his alter ego is Dick Dodge..

Here's the thing, I've said it before and I'll say it again...take everything with a grain of salt, stuff from AV, Hubbs, Callahan, everyone. Enjoy the show and realize recruiting is fluid, things change DAILY in this game. Sure, you can be upset but that's a YOU problem. That's not on AV, Hubbs or me. YOU allowed yourself to get upset today. Not the recruits, the reporters or the insiders fault. I'm not upset because I enjoy the ride and know things change all the time in recruiting. I enjoy the ups and downs, happens to every team and every fanbase. We are not unique in that sense even if we think we are.

Am I bummed that we didn't sign Figueroa and Eboigbe? Sure I am a little but they weren't on the commitment list so I knew they were long shots and I remember we still have Wright, Gray and Crouch and others to finish off the class.

Exactly how I feel. Just enjoy the info and understand there is a chance it may not happen.

They are three grown arse, physical men with mean streaks that will hopefully neutralize O-lines and push the pocket in the QB's lap for next 2-3 years.
I'm telling you guys...dealing with Simmons and Williams after Fitz has beastmoded them is going to be some all next week hurt after playing us for opposing OL..those are some big mean dudes.
