Well done, Memphis-- that was some fine flopping.
And ESPN sure did love up Penny. Did Barnes use an antibacterial wipe after that drive-by handshake?
Vols get it done.
I really think it’s gonna be SarkisianDid any of you other mid-state guys catch DM's show this morning, especially his weekly segments with Tony Barnhart? Doug was once again tripling down on saying Pruitt knows who he is hiring as OC. I was in and out of my vehicle and missed some of it but he and Barnhart were both saying the fans need to relax on this thing and discussed that ole Nick hasn't named his OC for next year yet either. I could've sworn Bama announced Enos as their OC or was that just for the bowl game or something?
Idk...I don't think the national champion in college football should have 2, maybe 3, losses. The regular season, and the regular season records, is what has always set D1 college football apart.I think it will make all teams work harder if they know they have a chance to get to the playoffs by winning their conference. Winning your conference used to mean something. Right now there's only about 8 teams with a chance to be one of 4. It's boring. Plus I would hate it if Tennessee was to be left out one year if they won the SEC with 2 losses and were left out.
Barnes is playing mind games with Turner. He's not gonna let him play again until he gets a better mental attitude. Just listen to him talk about the status of Turner and his recovery from the surgery. Barnes thinks it's in Turners head.Doesn't matter the perceived talent you have on your roster if your coaches don't develop it to play as a team. Nothing about that Memphis system or roster was team oriented. It was all one on one match-up oriented with an occasional feed down low from the post to a cutter. If Memphis were well coached they would have stopped doing the hand checks, blocks and trips that they got called on repeatedly in the first half, which continued in the second half. CRB was smart to go zone even though it hurt them in the second half on 3 pointers. He saw how the refs were calling it and gave them no opportunity to affect the final result. If the game had been tight he would have risked it with more man to man and pushing the 3 point line.
We need Turner back.
