You have the wrong two camps.

One camp is (Camp A)...it will result in something good for Tennessee.

The other camp is (Camp B) whatever happens will turn out badly.

Camp A is of the “give the man a chance” mindset.

Camp B is of the “ Ive seen this **** before” whether it was 3, 6, 9, whatever years ago.

I think Camp B would feel better if a decision was rumored, that decision came to fruition, and it looked like everything went according to plan.

But, nothing ever looks like it went according to plan

Although I'm curious about this whole thing, I do take extreme pleasure in seeing a thread about Pruitt and the baseball team and he's been doing some recruiting and he has some big recruits coming in this weekend. He seems like he's just going on with his business getting things done, while you and a few others are freaking the fork out like little girls wondering why nobody has asked them to the prom yet.
I’m not freaking out. Merely pointing out the cluster f&@$ that is this hire and the ever present sunshine pumper mafia that loved them some Butch Jones too.

I am just like a beat dog, look for nothing but bad from the athletic dept, they have screwed the pooch so much, I think they enjoy it. Only true positive on the hill is Coach Barnes

It's hard to know if it looks like it's going according to plan when no one knows the plan.

The reporting on the this has been almost non-existent, and with that, most everyone is just filling in the blanks with his or her biases.

Is Helton telling other OCs about his experience here? That’s what some think is causing concern for other coaches.

Should have hired Mullen last year. He’s tearing it up now.

We aren't divided. We saw that with Schiano last year. We have differences of opinion. Some still retain a rosy outlook while some want to see tangible proof.....

So the OP is saying Vol fans watching schools like Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Maryland, Temple etc... filling staffs while we wait on a single coaching hire are "chicken littles" because there is concern there will be another flop hire at UT? Interesting

Divided into two camps, Chicken Littles vs Let This Play Out. I'm in the "Let This Play Out" camp. Sure everyone wants to know what's really going on with the OC search, and know it yesterday or last week. A lot of posters feel like UT is getting left behind other schools and their recent hires, and the lack of any credible information can be frustrating. But the people who need to know, CJP & ADPF, do. We don't. I for one have been most impressed with the almost complete lack of information during this search, no one with inside info is leaking anything to anyone. That is almost impossible in this day and age!

Chicken Littles ( imo ) will think we've offered practically everyone the OC job only to be turned down each and every time. I believe CJP has his OC and has for some time, and they are just waiting til their current gig is up. A couple of wild guesses would be someone in the same circumstances as Kitchens or Long. If it turns out to be Friend, I'll eat this post.

Again, I've been impressed with CJP's stealthiness...

If you are in the "let it play out" camp then why are you in here starting threads? Go sit by your phone and Freak will text you when it "plays out"....but you aren't going to do that because you are just as anxious about the hire as everyone else. You just haven't been around enough to recognize the smells and sounds of discombobulation like the rest of us. You need to see it. We've had this meal enough times that we know what's cooking in the kitchen before they bring it out.

With the lack of credible information coming out, I have not yet decided if it is a cluster or a home run, just simply no information, and therefore no opinion yet.

I'm waiting for the Al Bundy announcement. He once threw for 4 touchdowns in a game and his expertise with shoes will allow him to negotiate a great shoe contract.

I'm waiting for the Peyton Manning announcement. He ran for over 3,800 yards and 36 TDs his senior year and his expertise with insurance and pizza will allow him to negotiate great nutrition and insurance contracts.....
