Hell everybody knows that if you're not that good in the NFL, you'll suck if you come back to the college ranks.. I mean what was bama thinking when they hired that Saban guy......

I’m okay with Sark. I think he’s a good OC who got put into an unfortunate situation in terms of following Shannahan as OC. The defense in ATL is awful and Sark has still kept ATL in top 10 offensive rankings for the NFL this year and last. It’s still impressive.

In b4 someone tries to say it’s all because of Matt Ryan and Julio...

Matt Ryan isn’t making Sark look better than he is. I haven’t watched much Falcons this year, but my biggest complaint with him last year was he didn’t go to Julio enough — Julio had some big games but wasn’t consistently targeted.

I don’t love Sark, but I could get behind it. I can understand the rationale for bringing him in and he could be really good here.

Again Lets Revisit Coach Mathews comments, which conflict with Volquest.

The guy they want to hire, the decision has been made on that from the University of Tennessee standpoint,” Mathews stated. “Yeah, they’re interviewing some people, but that decision’s been made. I said Wednesday it was 95 percent done. There’s some things to work out. Maybe they’ve already been worked out. There’s no hurry to hire this person. The person they’ve got identified and the person Coach Pruitt wants, again, I think that’s a done deal.

I don’t know who it is, but I know it’s been decided.”

“Jeremy Pruitt’s gonna make the decision. He’s made that decision, in my strong opinion,” Mathews said. They know who they’re gonna hire. When they’re gonna do it, I don’t know.”

“I stand by what I said before. Tennessee knows what they are going to do at OC. Maybe it’s a coach that’s coaching for a championship, maybe there’s a buyout to work through, but they know who they are going to hire.”- Doug Mathews

…his staff doesn’t talk to anyone in the media. There are no leaks. That’s why you aren’t seeing a lot of meaningful information coming out.”

After reading these comments, it appears everything is from university’s side…(i.e. we know who we we want, but not that the desired candidate has agreed to be our OC).

I do agree that whomever it ends up being Mathews has plausible deniability.

The Vols reportedly know which offensive coordinator they're hiring, so who could it be?

Today is talk ourselves into Sarkisian day? who is beating down his door for HC or college OC jobs right now? Is he the very best we could do? But you already know the answer to that

Agree but I think he gets a bad rap in ATL because he Followed one of the best playcallers iver ever seen. His first impression has stuck with their fans but they forget even Kyle struggled yr 1 with Ryan. I think it takes Ryan a good yr to get in sync with play callers based on his history.

At the end of day average in NFL which I'll take top 10 offenses average and so will recruits doesn't mean average in college. He has been part of some explosive offenses in college.
He’s also lost Freeman and a few starting linemen. Doesn’t help to have a defense that resembles Swiss cheese.

Unfortunately the answer is UT rarely does the very best it can do...
