Not even caught up, but you clowns on page 2841 thinking it’s going to be Rush need to get a grip. Grab your bible, or a stiff drink... or both and get ahold of yourselves

Not the VolNation way.

The get ahold of yourself part I mean......

Fulmer could have also told him to say that to take fan pressure off of him and Pruitt. If Fulmer and Pruitt already had their man and was just waiting and keeping it a secret(maybe they do maybe they don’t idk)why would he tell Matthews and let him go tell everyone else?
Because he can't come out himself and say "we've got someone, but I'm not telling who it is." That would look ridiculous. But he wants us to know.

That's a hypothetical. I'm not saying I believe it or don't believe it. But sometimes that's how these things work.

Rumors that Pruitt has his guy but waiting to announce due to the new OC is still coaching in a championship game. Chip is from Alabama. I believe he flirted with Bama OC job last year. Maybe Kelly is leaving for the NFL? Rumors and speculation mostly.

Thanks. I saw he was from AL but didn’t see any other connection to CJP besides that. I would have expected some coaching cross over as well.

That’s basically what he’s doing right now with Matthews lol

Did the championship part come from Matthews too?

I probably shouldn't post this because I think Probst is far fetched but let's for a second say he was the choice.

It would be in our best interest to keep that quiet as long as possible for recruiting purposes. Recruits wouldn't handle that news well and our rivals would eat it up.

Doug Matthews is right. Fulmer told him directly. They have their guy already, their just waiting to announce it. He said he heard that from Fulmer's mouth. He didn't make that up and I doubt Fulmer is lying to him. We'll find out when they're ready to announce it.
Fulmer never told him a name and Doug said he didn't ask for one. I don't know what Long makes at ND but I bet UT would bump it and he likes the Southeast better. I also would like to hear from TW or Tidal Surge on what some of their message boards were saying before Saban promoted Enos.

Haven’t been around here in a long time. Those of you who know me on here will probably take this well. Those who don’t probably won’t.

No one on here knows anything. The people that know stuff: Pruitt, Fulmer, members of the coaching staff (who get asked about candidates).

Unless one of those people told someone else directly, those are the only people that know.

Don’t fall for anything else. there’s no one on here creeping around the complex and posting about the info they hear. Period.

Pruitt and Fulmer, while it’s confusing and frustrating to watch, are going about their process. Doesn’t mean they won’t make a mistake. Doesn’t mean they’re idiots. They’re just doing their job.

Be patient. Not because there’s a master plan. But because this is college football, and it’s fun, and these are fun to follow.

This is the most plausible scenario IMO. Not buying the whole story that they’ve got their man, yet they are taking time out of recruiting to conduct interviews just so they can take notes about spread offense. It all just smells like BS to me.

I don’t think they would hire a guy if they believed it would be a big negative to recruiting. Also don’t think they would hide that from recruits. If you like a guy enough to hire him as OC, you believe your recruits will like him as well.

“I stand by what I said before. Tennessee knows what they are going to do at OC. Maybe it’s a coach that’s coaching for a championship, maybe there’s a buyout to work through, but they know who they are going to hire.”- Doug Mathews

For those asking
