Let's move away from the OC search for a minute and think about this:

Why have we only heard of two players who are transferring? With all the talk of players quitting during our last few games, I was hoping at least 10 would be out of here by now. If we're gonna fill 25 scholarships this year, somebody better be gettin' on the boat soon.

Since this comes up every year about this time (bold is mine):

11.4.4 I ndividual Associated with a Prospective Student-Athlete—Bowl Subdivision Football. [FBS] In bowl subdivision football, during a two-year period before a prospective student-athlete’s anticipated enrollment and a two-year period after the prospective student-athlete’s actual enrollment, an institution shall not employ (either on a salaried or volunteer basis) or enter into a contract for future employment with an individual associated with the prospective student-athlete in any athletics department noncoaching staff position or in a strength and conditioning staff position. (Adopted: 4/26/17 a contract signed before 1/18/17 may be honored.)

Maybe a stupid thought, but is it possible that CP interviewed these coaches with an abundant history of RPO based offenses as a fact finding mission, not to defensively plan against them, but to evaluate a current candidate against them? If I had a guy like Joe Osevet, who by all accounts has the potential to be on par with these type of coaches that were interviewed, already on my staff, what better way to see how he measures up then to interview his peers and see how he stacks up?

Isn’t Osovet on the road now? Seems you would want someone who already knows the recruits and the UT board.
You can leave him on the road if you wanted.

But there’s no scenario in which you wouldn’t want your offensive coordinator out on the road selling his message and vision to recruits. That’s ridiculous.

Will probably be more. Kids have to finish up exams and evaluate their academic status.

yeah it does seem like bs, tryin to think of who or why... has to be coaching right now

So because you don’t like his opinion, you think he is BS’ing. Ok I get it.

But again, why would you hold off hiring a guy you want to be your coach so that he can help recruit for another team? Because that’s what’s happening.

You hire your guy and he recruits for you. Maybe you make a deal where he coaches for the other team, but that’s it. You need him recruiting for you like Pruitt and Sherrer did last year.
