So what I take from Price comments on podcast and on midday 180 is that Pruitt was kind of like WTF after meeting with briles/Lebby when they were saying everything is by memory and not on paper(playbook). That seems like was a big philosophy difference and why Briles wants to bring Clements with him everywhere he goes.

I don't blame Pruitt if he wasn't comfortable with that.

Maybe I am wrong but that explanation was nothing more than VQ covering their tracks from pumping up the briles talk a few days ago. Not going to shock me if we hear similar talk about Yurcich tomorrow

So out of 125 kids recruited over 5 yrs and we (between both of us) have named 10 maybe 12. And I will even go to 20 and that is a pretty good return right? I am not counting the ones that transferred that got some sort of coaching unlike from that turd and ended up better. And Alabama and other schools getting that many in 2 yrs. That should sum up you 2 top 7 classes by Mr. Jones.
But Butch Jones isn’t Saban and nobody ever claimed him to be. To compare him at UT to bama under Saban is ridiculous. According to ESPN the Vols currently have 30 players on NFL rosters, 17 played at least one year under Butch, 11 signed with Butch. And that doesn’t include anybody that transferred away that Butch recruited

Kansas State made a good hire.

Hey are you still thinking we are going to close strong like you thought at the end of the season? Folks aren't as warm and fuzzy about recruiting right now and want folks opinions who seem to follow it closely. Not being sarcastic, genuinely asking your take...

Thanks for backing just what I said. Like I promised the other gentlemen i am through discussing any further I made my point and to compare Saban to butch jones, I do not like saban but I would never disgrace him to compare to Mr. Jones.

I’m a little worried. But I don’t think it’s due to the bad finish to the season as we went back and forth on.

Much like last year, it looks like we might finish 2nd for a lot of guys we thought we were going to get at one point. I’m *slightly* worried we can’t close.

I don't get too opinionated about coaching hires, for any school, because I just don't know enough about many coaches to have strong opinions. But reading some of the comments on this board about Briles and his OL coach, it made me wonder if he was a good choice. His scheme is intriguing, but good defenses adapt to scheme pretty quick. But the main thing I wondered is if a new blocking scheme, which it sounds like would happen, would set your offense back again next year.

The biggest UGA team improvement between years one and two under Chaney/Pittman was in the OL. I'm pretty confident that we wouldn't have improved nearly as much in 2017 if we'd made a big change in blocking schemes. Maybe Pruitt's not that concerned about tearing the OL completely down, since 2018 was obviously bad, but it might mean limited or no improvement on the offensive side in year two. Just a random thought, so don't forward this post to coach Pruitt.:)

I don’t buy that. Our roster for two years (dobbs kamara Hurd etc.) was widely accepted as the best roster in the east and one that “anyone could win the east or 10 games” with. Our roster isn’t good but i don’t buy that butch built that his first few years then every single player he recruited after that was a giant whiff.
4-8...5-7..

Didn't you have Enos not too long ago?

I'm coming around to it being him or we re waiting on Saban to pick his OC to see if he's available.

These other cats could be signed up by now if we were still looking 2 weeks in.
But to your point I think it’s Yurcich now because enough reputable guys are pointing to it.

It is weird that Alabama hasn’t announced whether or not Enos is getting the promotion though. 🧐
