Sark

I can get onboard with either one of those two....(despite whatever minor transgressions they might have).

In your 20's, who hasn't crawled thru a couple of bedroom windows....

I'm ahead of the curve (Dated a preacher's daughter in HS with a 9:00 weekend curfew)....Maybe I should throw my hat in for OC.....

Hard pass

Spilt duties at USC under P Carol was his only success.

Failed at Washington, failed at USC, and is failing at Atlanta

Posted this in the RF a while ago, but the idea that Sark has been garbage other than USC just isn't true. Also, there's a clear jump from Kiffin calling plays to Sarkisian both time he takes over. Don't really watch the NFL so can't speak for how that's gone, but he's been very successful in college when it comes to putting up points.

USC

2006 (Lane Kiffin OC) - 30.5 PPG
2007 (Sarkisian OC) - 32.6 PPG
2008 (Sarkisian OC) - 37.5 PPG

Washington

2008 (Ty Willingham HC) - 13.2 PPG
2009 (Sarkisian HC) - 26.1 PPG
2010 (Sarkisian HC) - 21.8 PPG
2011 (Sarkisian HC) - 33.4 PPG
2012 (Sarkisian HC) - 24.0 PPG
2013 (Sarkisian HC) - 37.9 PPG

USC (again)

2013 (Kiffin HC) - 29.7 PPG
2014 (Sarkisian HC) - 35.8 PPG

They scored 31 against a really good defense. Sark wasn't the problem in that game.

They ran all over Clemson at will yet he called for over 30 passes..... the offense was not the same offense that had been called all year....

If you believe the talking heads in Atlanta (which includes former NFL guys) he has struggled in the NFL b/c in college he just lined up with the better players. Now that he has to adjust and try to confuse a defense it is a problem.

And this is supported by the fact that Julio Jones, arguably one of the top 3 WR in the NFL, has only 5 TD catches in 13 games. I think I could scheme well enough to get JJ more TD's than that.

He called 32 passes...and 34 runs. Similar balance to the Auburn game that year.

Clemson might've been the best overall defense they faced that year and they scored 31 points, which was enough to win.

I am a Falcons fan and the main problem has been the defense and injuries to guys like Freeman and Neal, etc.

Sarkisian has done well with Ridley and getting Jones more involved each week along with Coleman becoming the featured back in Freeman's abscence and the emergence of Ito Smith and Austin Hooper.

I think Dan Quinn is on the hot seat for 2019 because Atlanta was a big favorite to become the first team to host a Super Bowl and Arthur Blank will not stand for a long fall from the top echelon of the NFL.

I’m a Falcons fan. I really hope his tenure is short-lived. The man doesn’t know how to use Julio in the red zone and struggles to consistently call a good game with one of the most talented offensive teams in the league. There’s no reason that team should be lower than top 5 in scoring and they are 14th right behind freaking Baltimore. Freeman has been hurt all year but they still have great weapons. The drop off from Shanahan to Sark was double digit points per game. That’s massive, especially in the league. I’m with you. Hard pass.
This sums it up nicely! I'm also a Falcons fan and would hate to see him here with the way they have dropped off with his play calling. No just NO.

Was with Pruitt at Bama in 16. Still coaching, so if Matthews is right about the hire already being made, would make sense that it wouldn’t be out there yet as terms being settled in ATL. Likely would’ve been fired anyway. He’s not a good NFL OC, but he’s had success under Carroll and did a stint as an analyst for Saban. One of the better x and o guys in the mid to late 2000s. Just a thought.
I would be happy with this hire. Not sure if it would happen but if it did this team would reap the benefits of an experienced OC

The Falcons' drop from Shanahan to Sarkissian was precipitous. They have been awful both years under him. He would be a great way to sink any chance of Pruitt reviving this program.
