ITS A PROMOTION

And those before the hay is in the barn cause distractions. Some more than others but you seem to be disregarding the relationship Pruitt has with Saban

Imo Any assistant coach leaving a school should keep it quiet until after their bowl games unless they are getting a HC job.

The job isn't done until the last game is played

If Pruitt and Fulmer are legitimately doing these interviews to learn, find weaknesses and strengths with different sets...then I think it’s absolutely brilliant.

Especially if they already have their guy picked out.

Interviews are about the only way you can get these guys to reveal their secrets
Theres nothing secretive about it tho, its called the veer and shoot. They dont use a playbook tho so I'll give u that

The oc going to Maryland isnt a distraction but the qb coach to TN is?

Maybe he doesn't want anymore distractions. Especially concerning Tennessee with signing day coming up and Hurts front and center as maybe his starter in the playoffs. That's a pretty big stretch though :):)

If “everyone is understanding” of an OC taking a promotion at another school, they would also be understanding of a position coach taking a promotion at another school

OC leaving is much more distracting than a QB coach leaving

Still not buying it. Candidates aren’t going to lay all of their secrets on the table during an interview. Especially if you are having multiple ones in a day, I doubt the dives are all that deep.

You hear all the time about coaches spending a week with X team, X Coach, in the offseason. I’d say information exchange is accomplished much more there. And having interviewed at competing firms multiple times in my career, and having conducted interviews for candidates at competitors, I know that the most vital information isn’t being exchanged during that process.

Playoffs? Yeah. Bowl? Not a big deal. Most important consideration if it’s a current college guy is the recruiting classes. It won’t be announced until after early signing day if so. And Sherrer was recruiting for UT while preparing for the playoffs for UGA...as Pruitt was doing the same for Bama. Neither was on the road recruiting for their former schools.

Sherrer wasn't legally recruiting for us

If it were that simple then making this OC pick wouldn’t be a big deal.
well i didnt monopolize making simple things complicated, we can run Power I play action pro set if we want but we better have freakin superior talent. Or we could embrace a philossphy that narrows that gap with proven production in Div I, Div I AA, Div II, Div III, FCS, and Naia football. I looked at top ten offenses in college footballs big boys yesterday. How many would u guess were Spread/Airraid?
