Agree, if he continues to run up the middle twice then short pass or deep 50/50 ball for 2 more yrs he shouldn’t see yr 4. It’s gonna take 4-5yrs of recruitment to be at Bama UGA talent level and unless he miraculously lands the top spot this yr in front of those he’s already behind going into yr 2

You may be right. But, in the two upsets that we managed this year, we stuck with that approach and it worked overall, although not so much on first and second down. So why continue on first and second down? I submit that it was simply to shorten the game, rest the defense, and put the team in the best position to win. As much as I'd like to score with a home run on first down, we didn't have the defensive depth to allow us to score or punt in three plays, then put the defense back out there. They were gassed as it was.

I've seen CJP and the OC criticized a lot for the approach, but in those two games at least, it shortened the game, rested the defense, and gave us a chance to win the game, even if we didn't win every play. Just something to consider... Pruitt isn't stupid and sees the stats, but he also has to do the best he can with the players he has now.
