Even in those years the QB ran for at or above 500 yards. I just don't think we have recruited for that
In 2015, they put up 110 points on Kansas St, 12th ranked Oklahoma and 4th ranked Oklahoma St (on the road) with Stidham at QB, who averaged 1.9 YPC.

He doesn't need the QB to run to be successful.

Patrick Brown posted some Freeze-UT stuff.

Said his source flat out denied a scheduled press conference was being prepared. And no one squashed the hire from within. And why would they have a press conference for a Coordinator? The new OC will immediately hit the recruiting trail.

Anyways that was the gist of it.

That is what made me laugh and doubt a lot of folks here and elsewhere had credible information. Coordinators just move and get to work. I could understand Freeze and his history being a special case to clear the air, but very unlikely. I can't remember the last time there was a press conference introducing a coordinator.

Remember sack yards count against those numbers in college football

Wouldn’t that be pretty convenient if the new OC happened to be interviewing on campus today, in which we will have a few official visitors this weekend?

How does our personnel mesh with a Briles offense? Id love to see CFA back into the mix at RB.

Imo it really helps our OL and JG.

Chandler/Jordan/Gray will be a fit... would be curious if Banks would move back in this scenario. He would not be fun to tackle in that offense.

Murphy I think would be a star in it.

Your point? You've seen Stidham play. If he's a better runner than Guarantano, it's by a marginal amount.

My point was, if he can make an offense hum with a guy who runs as well as Stidham, he'll be just fine here.

Lol, the media is going to kill us if we hire Briles. Even tho there’s no evidence he knew anything, he was never convicted, and the only time his name was mentioned was saying something inappropriate but not something that would cause him to be fired.

It’s literally because his name is Briles and he was on staff there. That’s it.

You see the Schiano irony here, right?

No. First of all, Schiano sucks and we were right to not want him on that point. But secondly, his name was mentioned UNDER OATH, as witnessing it and saying nothing. That, added on to his suckiness, made him unhireable. The only thing against Kendall is that his last name is Briles. It’s a lot different

I think Stidham is a better more instinctual runner than Jg

Regardless in most years under Briles
The QB has ran the ball a lot and even in years it wasn't used as much it was still roughly 40yds a game. It's hard for me to see JG averaging 40 yards a game rushing

JG has a slow first step. Really slow. Once he gets going, hes okay.

And I'd wager that the bulk of VN wasn't part of the twitter mob to begin with. Despite current group-think's effort to position everything as monolithic, a fan base is nothing like that. I don't tweet. I was not part of the twitter mob. I thought Shiano sucked and couldn't have told you a thing about his past. I'm glad he wasn't hired, but I don't see how it makes me a hypocrite for believing that Briles would be a great hire.

I think jg would do great as a passer under Briles but I just can't see him approaching 500 yards as a rusher. Maybe that offense doesn't need that QB rushing but from history it seems that way
