Hugh Freeze random guess thread (merged)

I agree with a lot of that. But it wouldn't hurt his rep to polish some of the ugly off his resume.
I agree, time is his best friend right now. I think he can do that somewhere else and have just as good a shot at either of those jobs after a year or 2 if they open.

Well that would be stupid. If the head coach believes its the best hire who are we to say otherwise? Rioting or protesting everytime we dont like a hire makes us look extremely stupid. It would just confirm me that the admin isnt serious about winning and Pruitt doesnt intend to be here long.
I think you answered your own question in your last sentence.

So nobody really wants anyone to pass along info? Ok, that makes sense

Your info is worthless or a day late and false....The info is so predictable and has no legs.

Yet without hesitation you are giving a play by play after the facts already posted....and when you did give facts they didn't happen....

You called your on source a liar but yet you are still using them to post updates....That is irresponsible reporting and is an oxymoron...

Yet you play the victim....

Most want the inside scoop. Either to be in the know or to give the posters that have bad info the business.

It’s win win. Except for the ones tht bring the inside info tht doesn’t hen exactly the way they say it will. For them it’s their legacy.

I think being on the staff that gets a HC fired might work against more than be a reason to promote.

Now if a HC retires, being on staff might be an advantage.

How many interim coaches get the permanent gig?

To use Gus as an example, because I think he's on the shortest leash.

I don't think Freeze would be viewed as the reason why Gus got canned. Gus has done plenty of that heavy lifting before the hire. Similar situation to Clawson and Fulmer. So while I don't think Freeze would really be viewed as the reason Gus couldn't save his job, I also don't think its an advantage that he's already there as opposed to being on Pruitt's or Saban's staff when it happens.

Freeze in the mornin’, Freeze in the evenin’, Freeze in the afternoon, if I get anymore Freezin’, I swear I’m gonna puke!

If I was advising Freeze, and there isn't enough Sexton in me to ever stoop that low, I would be choosing between Florida State and the barn. There is a strong possibility of promotion in the immediate future.

I see it like if Freeze does good enough to turn them around then the HC will get a majority of the credit and no reason to get rid of them. If they do terrible and are ultimately fired wouldnt the OC share the blame for that? Rarely have I ever seen a head coach get fired because of bad times and the OC promoted. Likewise, if those programs tank and they need a replacement wouldnt an OC at another school (UT or UA) doing well be just as likely (or moreso) to be hired?

I dont buy that FSU or AU promotion stuff.

For me it’s similar to guilt by association. I don’t think OCs get the blame for failure but they are part of the culture and anytime a HC is fired for wins/losses changing the culture of the program seems to be a priority.

I do not have any inside info, but it appears the Freeze hire is possibly being blocked because of allegations against Hugh Freeze during his tenure at Briarcrest High where he served as a girls’ basketball coach, among other positions...

At Briarcrest Christian School, Hugh Freeze's legacy is everywhere

“On Monday, a school official acknowledged the existence of a private Facebook group that describes itself as a forum for a "victim of Coach Freeze at Briarcrest” to come forward”

What can you point to that would suggest this is the case? A 2 year old article about something that happened 15 years ago?

C'mon man. That's weak sauce.

How was Will Friend as OC? That’s probably who were going to get. Also who should we get as OLine coach? I say we dump cash on Sam Pittman’s lawn.

If thats over a 2 or 3 year period I agree. 1 season hardly allows you to get fully entrenched. Good or bad.

Most of the negative opinions on Clawson come from UT fans. A lot of other people think he's a very good coach and his year at UT didn't define him.
