I am no one of any consequence. I am not a man of means. I am, however, a 45 year old life long Vol fan. I have spent thousands of dollars thru the years on tickets, merchandise, concessions, ect. IF it is true that you are blocking the hire of Hugh Freeze because of his past indiscretions (especially if you haven't talked to him yourself, face to face), thus, hindering the resurgence of UT Football, I will no longer be a supporter of UT sports at all. I cannot continue to give my hard earned dollars to a university that does not care about the product they put on the field/court. Again, I know I am nobody, but I also know that my voice mirrors the voice of many, many other Vol fans and supporters, many of whom do have means. We are sick and tired of the UT administration embarrassing the fan base as well as the state. Support your Athletic Director and let his do his job.

Pruitt is attached to Fulmer’s hip. Fulmer basically forced his way into the AD spot by gathering multi millionaire boosters to rally behind him and make threats. We have the business model on forcing the admin’s hand. Time to use it.

I wouldn’t go there either. What Briles Sr covered up and allowed to happen is as bad as it gets. Freeze screwed up for sure. He made a huge mistake. Should he had been fired? Yes. Should he be able to coach at Tennessee or any other SEC school? Yes. It’s not like he murdered or raped someone. Question for the law Vols......is calling a prostitute a felony or misdemeanor?

It won't be Friend but it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be someone we haven't mentioned yet. Coaching searches around here are always a circus and invariably, a letdown for the fan base.

I don't think it's gotten to that point. I'm not sure Pruitt has decided that Freeze is definitely the guy he wants. I think there are some with reservations, but I don't think the BOT or Randy Boyd has drawn a line in the sand and said they forbid it from happening

I get what you are saying, but honestly, most people on here were delighted when we hired Shoop. Nationally people thought we had made a major coup.

The dynamics around this possible hire are yuge... I am betting this won't happen for 25 different reasons.... morality within the fan base, UT Admin, and Sexton thinking this is a giant payday cause after all this is TN, and everyone has been taking this program for a ride and not even giving up a reach around.

At least to date we still have freedom of speech and freedom of association in the USA. Unless Freeze solicited sex he committed no crime. As there is no recording, or transcript of the call or testimony from the party he spoke with suggesting he "made an offer", then he is just guilty of poor judgement. It cost him millions and most likely severely damaged his relationship with his wife, family, and friends. Plus as he presented himself as a Christian, he's certainly a hypocrite. But no he's not a felon, or for that matter guilty of a misdemeanor.

Shoop should have been a good hire... it made perfect sense. I also remember the reactions on here when Mike DeBord was announced as Bajakian's replacement... and then Larry Scott. Pruitt isn't Butch... but I am prepared to be let down again. It's just how it goes.

I see zero chance Friend is promoted to DC. He wasn't even the play caller at Colo St, Mike BoBo was. I'm not sure Friend has ever even called plays. I think if it's not Freeze then it will be Lindsey. Both would be great hires. The ones knocking Lindsey are putting too much stock in Auburn's offense this year. This was Gus's offense and did his best Butch Jones to his OC. Guy let Chip run his offense last year but for some reason reverted back to his old ways this year. Exactly why Chip wants out from under Malzahn. He's never going to get full offensive control under Malzahn. Really believe those are the top 2 options then Dan Enos and NC State's OC the next group. But Lindsey would take the TN job in a heartbeat plus the ties him and Pruitt have. Still believe Freeze is very possible with Lindsey being the #2. But there's honestly no telling but if it's Lindsey it would be a very good hire. Way better than Helton was.

Espn problem is their own doing, college football is as popular as ever. If not espn someone will take their spot. If Tennessee starts winning more than losing attendance will quickly hit 6 digits again, you can take that to the bank. GBO!
