How many will not renew season tickets?

It's funny all you all quit your season tickets and don't go to games, but you still come here to complain. Either your a fan or not, you don't even have to have season tickets to be a fan. But I can't see the point of coming on here complaining about why you gave em up at this point. Tennessee will start winning again at some point and Neyland will be rocking again at some point. For those that choose not to believe that fine, but why complain so bad on here and keep preaching negative if you if your not going. Why worry about it now, just wait to they start winning again and change your handle and get right back on the train. Many of you predicted the season we had or worse. We knew we were paper thin of depth going in, now suddenly after 1 year some want Pruitt gone like we expected us to have a terrible record yet look better. Actually we did improve, with a lot of Jones players still around when we had no choice but to keep them this year or we would not have been able to practice. Give Pruitt 2-3 more recruiting classes and if we aren't winning a lot more than losing then you can call for his head. GBO!!!!!

I’ll bite since I was one of the first to answer.

We’re talking about it because it’s a community of Vol fans and there was a thread about it.

I believe Neyland will be rocking again one day.

I’ve never called for Pruitt’s head, though I saw limited improvement over the course of the year.

I would like all the "Real" fans step up and offer to buy out the "Fairweather" "Banwagon" fans' tickets. Let's see if the "Real" fans will do it.

Fine don’t go.
My 4 year old says hi. The logical explanations have been presented and beat into the dirt for you. You seem to have some Field of Dreams hangup with our team when it’s clear the ones in charge burned the corn fields to the ground and built a petros over the ashes long ago. To be clear, none of this makes any of us happy and we’d all like nothing better than to watch UT dominate the college football landscape. I will watch, I will cheer, I will be critical, and I will let them prove they’re deserving of anything beyond that with their performance on the field.

Reality: Ticket sales and profit to UT will be just fine next year. If you doubt this, look at how they were under boy butch (worst coach in TN History). The games have become more about a social experience than team support, again remember how they were under boy butch. I don't really see any long time season ticket holders (no more than the average/year loss) deciding to give up their tickets; however, we shall see. And as a stop gap, if there is a large number of season ticket holders ready to give up their tickets, I believe there are plenty of "fans in waiting" that will happily purchase these seats.
This year was the worst attendance I can ever recall. It will get worse if the results don't get better. I know ticket owners of 20+ years turning multiples in for the first time ever. It is common now and it saddens me, but I respect each and everyone of them.

For what UT Football has become, we're reaching the point where it just isn't worth the time.

We've been thinking about this for a while.

Agree with everything you said, but this is it in a nutshell for my family. It’s not just the donation and the tickets. For us, it’s basically a whole weekend and it’s hardly ever fun. Why am I going to spend hundreds of dollars on top of tickets and give up most of my weekend to watch us get run out of our own stadium? I’ve been a Vol my whole life and I will die one, but there are better things I can do with my money and there are definitely better things I can do with my time.

And we’ve been thinking about this for a while too. At least the last two years. I’ve just had a hard time with the thought of giving up our tickets. Makes me sad.

There are no “fans in waiting.” You can get season tickets if you want them. A decent amount of lowers were available on AllVols all season.

I don't think a lot of people have been to enough games to know how bad it has gotten. I've been to Dooley FCS games with better attendance and enthusiasm. It's bad.

I will probably renew but the traffic and replay crap this year were horrible. They charge us and cover Jumbotron with ads. The experience at Auburn was so much better all around with worse viewing seats.

The reason I renew is because of a soon to be 13 year old boy who loves it. When asked during Vandy game if we should support some other team than these guys laying down, yes it was a test for him, he said but we are Tennessee Volunteers. We will always be Vols and that will never change. I don’t know how many years I may have on this earth. I am 52 and he’s my last at home. I have lost so many friends in their 50’s the last few years.

I do this for my time with him that just us guys get to do together. We eat steaks and drink milk and cokes and do what we want. Went to visit at Bama and Auburn and had a great guys only weekend. Love that boy and our time together. So yes, I will renew.

I’ve had season tickets since I graduated in ‘08. Horrible stretch for UT football but I sit with my parents and get to see them in the fall more than any other time of the year. Also started taking my oldest son, who’s 4 to some games this year. Can’t replace memories with the people you love, especially when it’s something we all have a common interest in.

With that said, I completely understand people who are tired of going and watching a bad product.

I agree 100% on the Jumbotron ads and lack of replays. Even Vandy this past week showed a replay of every play, even if it was a positive UT play.

If you or anyone else is trying to get me to understand why a person that has the chance to attend games but chooses not to go because of wins and losses, I guess hi back to your 4 year old, I don’t get it.

I wonder how many didn’t make the trip to Auburn because of our record and how we played.

Maybe they will prove they deserve to have you back in Neyland in 2019.

Do you want to buy mine next year?

Considering my circumstances only allowed me to go to one game this year and I don’t see enough changes coming to matter, I’ve got to pass.

From the way it sounds by the time it makes sense for me to get season tickets there will be some quality seats available.

We moved out of state. What was a 15 minute drive to campus is now 4 hours. Had tickets this season but only went to 4 games. Gave away other 3 games. Not sure if we will renew or not. Really on the fence. Love going but hate walking out disappointed more and more. The drive home is much more difficult after getting kicked in the nads. Love tailgating but not sure if it’s worth it at this point. Going to a game takes much more planning now. May renew and sell/give to family to save my seats in case things get back to where they should be. Maybe that’s not very “loyal” of me, but the drive is the biggest factor now. If I was still 15 min away I would be first in line to renew. Just not feeling the buzz to justify the drive.

This is exactly what we've been struggling with.

I had season tickets from 1985 to 2010. Sold them for face value the last 2 years I had them. I have never regretted giving them up when I did. At this point, I wouldn't even take free season tickets if I were required to actually go to the games. Not a good product.

They lost me when Currie was hired, but son was already playing college ball and watching him on Saturday's played a big part but I still made my donation and paid for my 4 seats in N section. But with the hiring of this man I pulled my donation and stopped buying tickets. I left over 200k points on the table toward better parking but I would not support the University any longer hiring that clown. I'm sure once we get this thing turned around and son graduates from college, I'll renew and make the 6 hour trip back to Knoxville. I love my Vols and nothing will stop me from attending. Bash if you want, but I have been a UT fan all my life through good and bad, but I bleed orange 24/7, and nothing can change that ever.

Saying people are fair weathered or non dedicated because they choose not to renew season tickets is absurd. If you are a fan of Tennessee and have suffered through our last 20 years, then you are dedicated. It takes dedication to suffer through getting owned by vandy and the likes.

And as I said earlier, I've already given thousands and thousands, spent thousands more on travel and all the associated costs, dealt with ticket price increases when the product on Saturday is historically bad.. to me and my family it's not worth it anymore. I'm choosing to take all that money and use it on my family instead. Don't like it? Tough s&^*.

Like most things everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don't accept ideas that ones fandom can be quantified as a value proposition. Just that simple FOR ME.... doubt I am alone...

Never had them to renew. But I'm usually good for 2-3 games a year. This past year I attended zero games. Next season I plan to attend zero games.

For me, it's more than winning or losing. The atmosphere of going to the game and eating crappy food at the stadium is something you can't get sitting on the couch or from a sports bar. It's memories made, and time spent together watching football in person. Really at the end of the day, people just needs to do what works and feels right for them.

I will again purchase my season tickets. I have outstanding seats, only downside, they are on the visiting side. I'm hopeful I can trade and get directly across the field behind our team. I think what you see is what you get till you rid the team of many Butch era players; only recruiting will get that done. Hopefully some of the folks who haven't bought in will be able to sit on the bench. For me, I would hope if this is going on, they choose to leave during the off season. I believe Pruitt gets things done, although I'm not sure how long that takes. Next year, I don't expect to be much better, maybe a 6 win or at best, a 7 win season. Let's hope for a good recruiting class, God knows we need it.
There's more to it than just the players. This admin for the last ten years has been embarrassing.

I'm not stupid so I am going to wait until the fire sale comes out and try and get some lower deck in the dry for a reasonable donation like I used to have........M Row 51 or whatever the next to top row was.

I hope to get reasonable tickets, drive through Nashville on game day and grab my youngest, then go over to the game. Come back to Nashville and overnight then come home. Good trip.
