He broke into Neyland on his way to his Honeymoon in order to vow that he'd be an SEC coach one day. There's no doubt that this is a dream job for him and given the way Freeze thinks I'm sure he'd see getting the OC job as the perfect road to redemption for him. He'll bend over backwards to get this job. That in itself is appealing.
My thinking as well. I'd be very surprised if he didn't do a bang up job here. And hey, Pruitt leaves for Alabama in a few years, slide ol Hugh baby in that head coaches chair. Even though I doubt Freeze would be here for more than a couple years.

If Pruitt insist on pounding it our despite not having the personnel to do it, we'll sitting here next year bitching about the OC and we'll have a similar record.it will literally take 3 more years best case to have the bodies and experience to be successful running that style. That's if he recruits at the highest levels. We still won't be able to play the power game against Bama n GA as they'll have just as good and better athletes. I think that approach can get us to 8-9 wins but that's about it. Not sure he can last that long to install that type of system.

Freeze already got in trouble for getting jobs and bending over backwards while at Ole Miss. It was definitely appealing to him. If Pruitt wants his OC to pound it then Freeze it is Lol.

I honestly can't tell the difference; is Butch just so much of an enormous douche bag/horrible coach that no one wants to hire him or is he that hell bent on screwing over UT for the foreseeable future that we continue to pay the lion's share of his salary?

Devils advocate: Coaches that fail at P5 schools then drop down to G5 schools rarely seem to climb back to P5 rankings. If his goal is to become a P5 head coach again climbing back up from position coach in a major conference might be his best chance to do that

Is the alternative to continue to forcefit a pocket QB into a read option spread with the same passive blocking scheme that Jones ran until you can recruit and develop an SEC OLine and power back?

So if Pruitt insists on pounding it out, and Lindsey is best known for his “air raid” offenses, why are we speculating that it’s not going to be a similar situation to Auburn pigeonholing Lindsey again? The bald thing?

Haven't been able to be on much today. Could someone explain about Gus and Auburn? Why would Gus do it? Why would Auburn want to except to be able to fire him next year for less. Don't they think that will destroy this recruiting class? And what's the talk about them trying to make CL stay? Thanks

The dominos need to fall the right way. We're getting ready to see if that happens.

IDK why he hired a passing game coordinator he'd never worked with to run a power run offense with the personnel he inherited. It was a disconnect. I'm sure he'll go about it differently this time and select someone who shares his vision and will execute the way he wants.

What is mind boggling to me is someone on this forum If I can remember correctly stated that Pruitt is trying to install a power run offense that saban ran until other teams started catching on how to stop it and then saban adapted is offense to what it is now.the poster also said what Pruitt is trying to do will not work in the sec.i found it very interesting and would love to hear your take on that if it is true.
