Which players hit the road/Pruitt shows them the door?

Why disparage kids this way? some of you guys need to grow up and get a life

Do you view 18 year olds fighting in wars for the US as kids or grown men? Because the military puts them in charge of billion dollar equipment quite often and trust them.

Do you view an 18 year old headed to court as a kid? Cause the legal system tries them as adults.

Do you view a citizen who is 18 as a kid or an adult? Because the state says they can vote.

So why must we pamper 18 to 22 year olds as kids? They are young men. Some are actually older then current nfl and nba players.

Are we not allowed to criticize nfl rookies now too?

Who cares? Call them what you want it really doesnt matter at all.
Human nature for young men is to rise to the level of expectations afforded them.
Speak to them as the (young) men they are and that's the man who will respond as he meets expectations.
On the other hand, if you expect nothing and respect no one, that's the easiest expectation in the world to live up to for anyone of any age.

I've got no problem with people pointing out that a player didn't play particularly well in a game or is learning on the job/being forced into a role he's not physically ready for, etc. but I'm not going to judge what's in somebody's heart or label them a cancer when I don't know them, that's jmo/attitude. I'm going to give our players the benefit of the doubt and presume good faith absent credible evidence to the contrary.

I couldn’t name the players that didn’t buy in or give their all. I could guess, but I wouldn’t know because I’m not part of the football program and around the players like the coaches are. The ones I thought weren’t trying could easily be ones that just don’t have the athletic ability.

I think it's pretty fair to assume there are players who quit and who won't be back. When you have Tennessee player's referring to getting rid of the cancers on this team, I think it's fair game for discussion to wonder who those players are.

I just posted in another thread, if my math is correct, and it's usually suspect, Tennessee has 84 players on scholarship and 11 of those are seniors. By my fuzzy math, that means 13 more players will need to leave, or be asked to leave, in order for Tennessee to sign a full class of 25 that recruiting analysts are suggesting.
Wow!! 13 players?!?
This is off season is about to get interesting...

Too bad they can't buy themselves a beer to chill out after serving in the military.

Coming from someone who has spent the last 23 years either being a young Marine or around young Marines....yeah they are kids.

Weird that folks put so much effort into.such a meaningless argument. What difference would it make if every single poster called them kids or adults? None.

This argument started with a dude that said he constantly cusses an 18-19 year old for mistakes he makes on a football field...think about that man.

I believe we need 10 to 12 non-seniors to leave in order to sign a full class this year. Not going to name anyone but the 4 players who were dancing on the sideline during the 4th quarter of the vandy game is a good start!!!!!!

I didn’t get to watch the game, but who were the jokers dancing on the sidelines?

Agree with you. Plus there's this, under the Board Guidelines:

5. Respect the players Fans often get upset with players for their performance on the field or other issues that may affect their contributions. It's certainly allowable to criticize players for their play, but personal attacks, name calling, etc. of Tennessee players is frowned upon.

But Mr. Freak has decided otherwise above. Still find it unseemly for grown men to blast college kids playing a (supposedly) amateur game.
I don't know who is getting booted from the team, but I'm pretty sure who's about to get booted from VN.

Actually, after a few years' absence from a previous time on here under a different name, this thread reminds me why I left it.

Later.

I get your point. I could consider myself to be a successful leader of that age group, although some may disagree. Nonetheless, ive learned that they really dont care what you call them, as long as they know you care about them.

I know VolNation hates Antonutti, but he was a pruitt recruit, I doubt he is one of the cancers that needs to transfer.

JG and JJ may be the ones who knows. Could be chandler or Callaway. You see no one wants to think about the guys that are good, everyone assumes (wants to assume) the “cancers” are the bad players. Time to nip that crap in the bud forget feelings

Interesting stat. Of all running backs in Tennessee football history with at least 50 carries, only Charlie Garner and Alvin Kamara have a higher yards per carry average than Carlin Fils-Aime. He looked like he hustled his butt off every play to me and produced positive results.

I don't know that he is a "cancer" or that he will transfer. I just spitballed 20 possible guys, for a myriad of reasons, that may not be with the program next fall.

I have nothing personal against Antonutti, I just know we are bringing in 5-6 on the O-line next year that are more highly touted and ready to play than Tanner.
