Is there a fear that recruiting would suffer with Freeze because of his past?

It will be most likely but these guys are good and will find a way to spin it in their favor. He wants to be a head coach again somewhere so hes going to be squeaky clean and extremely motivated wherever he goes.

He was a tremendous recruiter. But was it primarily due to his cheating?

He wouldn’t be cheating anymore (presumably)

And we get the added bonus of negative recruiting against him with Christian or conservative families worried about their son.

Idk what that effect would be

I think he's so much of a BSer he will convince families he's redeemed. I hope he is but I don't believe him. Good thing I ain't no operating the Pearly gates

What is so hard about this? If Enos is your guy, hire him. Let the world know. Let him recruit for UT. Let him finish the season at Bama if that is what Enos and Bama want...We have done this routine before. No mystery.

You get the coach of one of the greatest college QB's ever, and maybe TAULIA TAGOVAILOA
or Hurts. If he can handle OC, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

Absolutely. His whole schtick was being the super religious family man. All that went out the window.

It’s going to be tough to sell him to parents knowing he could be hiring hookers for their kids behind their backs.

Pruitt isn't going to do that to Bama and I don't blame him
The man is a HC in the SEC now, he's going to do whatever is best for his job security and his program; what's best for Bama, or hurting Bama's feelings has no bearing on his decisions whatsoever, anymore. Yes, he did it last yr, and allowed Sherrer to do it, but it's no longer last yr. He has now spent a yr as the guy, and in the grinder; if Enos is who he wants, he will do whatever it takes to get him here asap...whatever it takes. Jmo.

Gets too pass happy when running the ball down someone’s throat. Look at NC game last year. Where’s Sony in the second half.

The report on Georgia boards was that Michel was banged up and not at 100% late in the game. I never saw the coaches say that, so don't know for a fact, but since he was about to enter the draft, it wouldn't have likely been publicized. He was already having trouble with his knee late in the season and had an MRI done after the SECCG, so that's a possibility.

I don’t know. There’s something very powerful about forgiveness. Being able to sit in front of a parent and humbly admit you’ve failed, share how you’ve reconciled with your family and how deeply appreciative you are for this second chance has the ability to go a long way. Saying to a kid, “we’re a team of second chances. You come play for us, we’re going to push you to be greater today than you were the day before. We’re doing to work with you and help you become the man you desire to be. I know what it is to have it all and lose it. Let’s work together to make sure you learn from my mistakes.”

Idk what that effect would be. Could be minor, major or just a non-factor. Hard to say

Edit: I should also add that he seems really well connected to several important high schools in the south

I just don't like the baggage. There are just too many other good choices.

Like you say, much of his good "recruiting" was probably due to cheating. So, you either get a cheater who risks getting us on probation, or you get someone who can't recruit when playing by the rules, or someone who can't recruit because of the bad rep.

I would rather have Kiffin and his problems, personally. I think he know how to handle recruiting, and X's and O's. I doubt he is on the market for an OC job though.

His approach to hiring coaches playing in the playoffs
Enos being a position coach, I believe he'd leave in a heartbeat to take over his own offense, and a significant pay raise. When it comes to Pruitt, I truly believe he is going to do whatever is best for HIS program, and all else be damned.
