I mean, if you're losing by 25 points to Vandy in a game that could have sent you bowling... I'd say you've quit.
Do you see this crap being tolerated by an Al Wilson type? Did you see UT players dancing on the sideline while losing to Florida during the 90s?
It's a soft, complacent and losing mentality. We need to root that out ASAFP.
So all of them quit?
Im just asking for a name of a player that quit? It shouldnt be hard since we have concluded that lots of players quit. How in the world did you make the jump from one person dancing on the sideline to me saying everyone on the team quit.
I don't think everyone on the team quit, but I definitely do think there is traction to a lot of the players saying "not everyone was bought in to the process" meaning "there were guys who quit or just simply didn't give enough of a @(&*! about winning".
I think the tipping point was the INT going into half against Mizzou. When it was clear we were destined for 6-6 at best, I think dudes legitimately said "nah, I'm good with not having to practice in the cold only to end up going to Shreveport or Memphis or right back to Nashville".
There were guys who were sold trips to Florida, etc and committed to that... not Memphis, Birmingham or Shreveport.

Is it your assessment that the one player dancing on the sideline caused us to get bombed by vandy or do you believe there were others? If so, who?
Exactly. The culture of Butch Jones turned some of these players into a bunch of entitled @$$holes.No coach in the world can get a player with no heart up for a game. If you have heart you would have already been up for our last two games. Some our players are quitters, plain and simple. And you can't coach that out of someone. As for him stopping on the Vol walk, it was an attempt to make a change. If you don't want to give him credit for that, it is on you.
He said "people," which was why I put quotations around it (not being sarcastic). There was also another player that fistbumped Nigel when the media asked him the same question and they replied the same, maybe it was Buchanan? Kyle Phillips also said "people." I don't think they want to put em on blast like that.Who did he call out?

It was so obvious Pruitt and Helton weren't on the same page when CJP called a timeout to go for a 2pt PAT. Helton had no idea and was thinking 1pt. The game was out of hand at this point but from a coaching standpoint, that shouldn't have been surprising and warranted a timeout. Helton should have had plays dialed up if we scored. 1st year coaching blunders imo.I like your assessment of the state of the program. I wonder if Pruitt and Helton got into a shouting match during halftime of the Vandy game hence his departure to WKU...the players that didn’t give their all need to be gone and I agree that until the cancer is removed but yet still not decent progress we shouldn’t judge the staff until we know for sure who isn’t the right fit in their staff position. I’ll be watching the recruiting forum and see what happens and such. May this offseason be one of hard work and getting the right players here for 2019 and beyond!! I’m still on the Pruitt train until he proves otherwise. Let’s go to work!!!! Go Vols!!!!
These players are not good enough when will you accept thatI dont know if im a fan of stopping the vol walk and preaching to the players. It seems like he is trying to gather fan support for himself because for whatever reason, he cant get the players up for a game.
He seems like a good coach, hopefully he figures out how to be a head coach.
I’m still trying to figure out what some people think the coach is responsible for. I mean they aren’t responsible for getting the players to play with the right attitude, they aren’t responsible for the constant penalties, they aren’t responsible for proper tackling, they aren’t responsible for getting any extra talent out of these guys. What in yalls estimation is the responsiblity of the coach? I’m honestly not trying to be a jerk, I just really would like to hear what is on the shoulders of the coach?Yeah, I know they can only do so much. Good coaches figure it out, bad ones cant. Hope Pruitt can figure it out because having fully stocked teams with 4 star back ups like he has had his entire coaching career is not likely.

All of the things you just mentioned. But the coaches must have the guys who were recruited to play their way. When CJP gets his guys, everything you mentioned will be on him. He can’t be blamed for this team having quitters. He also can’t just cut them all loose and have an empty roster. If he can’t control the attitude of a roster he creates then he will be let go. But for this year he had what he had. A handful of quitters.I’m still trying to figure out what some people think the coach is responsible for. I don't think it's accurate to say "same thing every time." Butch made excuses and didn't speak truth. Many coaches won't call out the lazies. CJP did and took some heat from the fans, but the dogs on this team are behind them.Same thing every time. In the first year or two it’s always the players. Never the coaches. They got to get their own players in there. The players are quitters or losers.
I don’t buy that. Yeah talent and depth deficiency is a real thing but everyone blames the 18-22 year olds and never the adults making millions the first two years. You’re job is to motivate and put the players in the beat position to succeed. You can break it down however you want but Pruitt and company didn’t do that the last two games.
Why, im just looking for a single name of a player that quit. To date, noone has named one.Well, clearly there is an issue with reading comp on your side. The vid I linked literally had "this was while UT was losing 38-13" so the bombing was already taking place.
And you're really barking up the wrong tree. Multiple named players have said "not everyone bought in". I know you're being belligerent but it's pretty clear that indicates that there were players th- ... ah I'm wasting my time.
The coach is responsible for the overall performance of team. Has been since the beginning of sports, will be till the end.I’m still trying to figure out what some people think the coach is responsible for. They are not good enough to beat Vandy talent mindset work ethic size and strength. All lackingNot good enough to what? Win the east? No, beat alabama? No....be competitive with Vandy? Yes they are.
Sadly are fanbase has also.accepted the loser mentality of the team. Weird tsu didnt have that mentality, neither did vandy
