I’m sure there are some “cancers” on the team, when you have no accountability for two years that happens. But I’m not about to go trash players that have given their all and try to fix the garbage Butch left just because of a handful of players, that’s ridiculous

Not sure Pruitt publicly telling us that he would need to bring in new players was the best way to handle it. But you would defend him whatever he did.

That said, he is my coach, and I will support him. I like the guy, and he needs to make some adjustments on offense.
Agree with all this

And my opinion is it that is ridiculous at this point not to. The players that did give it all they could are too few to matter.

Pruitt's success here will ultimately come down to recruiting. It's obvious to me, at least to this point, he's not the type of coach that can take make a bunch of lemons and make lemonade. He needs similar or better talent than his opponent. If he can recruit big time players, he'll do ok. One class won't do it either. He can sell immediate playing time, a vision, ect... but he can only use that so long. I seriously doubt we see much improvement record wise next season as we'll be relying on youth. I almost think 6 wins and a bowl will be required to build some momentum and provide evidence of his sales pitch. He must close strong on this class.
I got a totally different feel. Although I don't think he can make lemonade with lemons that don't want to be lemonade, I do think he and the coaches he has can coach and develop players well. Yes, we will have to have talented players because of who we play yearly.

They quit since then
So you think those players dominated UK and nearly pulled off an upset @ Scar just 2 weeks prior just to be like “haha watch this I quit, f UT, F Pruitt, F the fans and F my football career, I’m about to go get embarrassed in my final 2 football games ever” after working out everyday under Pruitt.... Cmon

This may have been brought up already, but I haven’t seen it...

If UT somehow did hire Hugh Freeze as the new OC and he bolted for another Head Coaching job after putting up pretty good numbers next year, would everyone be cool with that??

And by pretty good numbers I mean his offense helps UT get to 7-5 or 8-4??

Yea, that's the point I was trying to make. I think it's difficult trying to hold a team together with players with one foot out the door. I think the evidence of that was the last three games of the season. Players that came to the realization that they were done at UT and lost what little bit of giveadam they had left. In hindsight I have to wonder if it would have been better to usher them out in the spring and dealt with the depth problems this season.

Probably so. Heard the complaints very early in the season if you remember when I first posted about transfers, it was several weeks ago.

Lol I already said I’m sure there were some cancers, that doesn’t mean nearly every player didn’t give af. You gonna listen to B Johnson’s uncle? Ok, so I assume you believe him when he said CBJ>Pruitt?

Yes. You take that chance. He may never get a head job at least for a while.

I believe when he says that guys on the team didn't want to play in a "crappy bowl"

Maybe but they weren't as bad of a problem until season played out and they weren't playing. In off-season they all thought they could play. It's just the pathetic way these kids are these days they give up. Nobody understands playing role guy and waiting your turn anymore or try as hard as you can while you are somewhere regardless of feelings
I'd still take Pruitt 10/10 times.

He made an assumption, he literally said “I’m not saying that’s what the players want but I guarantee they’d rather go home”. I’m sure he has such a tight relationship with the players.

He also said players don’t play hard for Pruitt and they played harder and liked CBJ more
