How do you react while watching a Tennessee game

last year it was yelling at the stupid incompetence of CBJ....
This year it is yelling at our pulling guards for failing to turn up and hit the first dude who appears not wearing ORANGE....and that has me hoarse!

This year it IS also yelling "LOOK OUT" at JG....and also "THROW IT....THROW IT....SHEET!"

A loss used to ruin my entire weekend. I can remember throwing things, going to my room and slamming the door and not coming out for hours. Now, I just change the channel when it’s over and enjoy my weekend. I’m sad that I’ve become so apathetic

Look, I’ve been around a long time watching Tennessee football. I’ve never bash anyone on the team, or coaches. Do I get upset? Yes, I get upset when a receiver drops a ball, or the qb gets sacked, or we loose yardage on a running play but I never give up. Until that clock hits zero in the fourth quarter, I’m all in. Do I get upset for a penalty? Absolutely I do, and I’ll let that player have it while watching. Like a false start, I’ll say something or scream, WATCH THE BALL WHEN IT IS SNAPPED, or see holding, or anything that I think these players know about not doing. I think the most uncomfortable thing for me is holding and false starts, that drives me up the wall. They know better than that. Well anyways, what drives you crazy?
Tennessee Football.

I've become numb over the years. If we score points and get a lead, I don't even care, because I'm so used to them choking it away, every single year. Seriously, after the 2010 season, with the way the LSU game and the bowl game against North Carolina ended up, how can anything possibly surprise you?

I understand we don't have the horses but that has nothing to do with...

False starts
Illegal formation
Just how many illegal formation calls have been called against us and why is this even happening at this level?

This x 1000. Makes me concerned about coaching.

I used to get upset because we all expected to win. After the last 10 years, I now expect us to lose. I still watch the games but I don’t get upset unless there’s a blatant targeting call or bonehead play, something like that. But as far as our play on the field, I can carry on with my day like nothing ever happened win or lose. It doesn’t effect me like it used to.

It is not nice to say, but, I don't think some of these players are very intelligent. Being football smart as some guys are can cover up lots of short comings. But lack of intelligence will show up with the simplest things. Give a guy a little slack for being too excited, but when simple things keep showing up, for me it is a lack of intelligence. You say no, it's discipline, I agree, but good discipline is a sign of good intelligence.

Everytime JG throws deep and the camera pans away I mutter "kid just got killed".

At my core I love Tennessee and want them to win, always will. The last 2 seasons or so I've bottomed out and become numb. But my hope is in CJP, despite being told I need to leave the site because they label me a nega. I think he knows how to win if the players will buy in. I'm not too wild about a position coach or two of his but that's another issue.
Before you even give up on the position coaches, look at where that group was and where they are now. There are certain groups that started out really bad and have improved to almost acceptable. They are still very deficient, but have improved immensely this season. I have seen an improvement almost across the board. We have a LONG way to go, but I feel we have taken quantifiable steps in the right direction.

Rather passively the last 2 seasons. I'm always looking for someone to step up their game or for phases of the platoons who show some hope or promise going forward. More analytical than in previous years. Often predispositioned to the reality of a likely loss, but searching for someone to step up their game and make big plays. Like against Kentucky, I was stirred by Darrell Taylor's individual performance and hoped he had turned the corner on being a real pass rush threat with another year to play. But then, against Mizzou, not much there. Always hopeful, but not very emotional like bygone days.
