I’m with you. I think he’s been fine, and could potentially be great.

The porous OL with untalented and undersized players in a line of scrimmage league seems to me to be obvious explanation for our mediocre offense.

Let’s give him a 13 year extension and a 10 million buyout if we fire him.

My impression of us lining up this year in our F150

I’m fine with a top 20 finish that has a lot of OL and DL.
i think it'll be higher finish than that.

and we already have a lot of OL and DL in this class..so that's a good start. obviously have a big opportunity to finish with a fantastic OL haul.

have some work to do on the DL, but if we can land a Logue, Walker or Eboigbe, then you start to feel a little better about it.

still have opportunities with some blue chip LB's and WR's too. and awaiting flips is always fun.

lots left to do on the recruiting trail.

eh, i think most get it. there's a few, there alwasy are, that are going to overreact.

no one was happy about Saturday, in and of itself. nor should they be.

but it changes nothing, big picture wise. i do think most folks get that.
More of statement about those two being day to day.

I tend to think it will be but if we lose Saturday I kind of think we will whiff on a few of the bigger names. I’m not going to panic though. I’m in this for the long haul! If Mizzou can bring a bunch of 2 and 3 stars into Neyland and become of the few teams in history to hang 50 on us there, then we can start a very solid rebuild with top 20 classes.

I would think it would be safer to assume Trey won't be back. I think that article is just the recruiting pitch of "hey you could play with Trey." I doubt two incidents of life threatening experiences are going to inspire Trey to keep playing.
I would imagine a guy like Trey would continue to do everything he could to find his way back onto the field until a doctor officially forbids it.

very veteran team. that team took 3 or so years to build. that's not the plan we're on, or rather, want to be on.

i'm not ready to give up on Vandy. i know this game is way more competitive than any of us want it to be, but it's certainly a very winnable game.

and this staff just hasn't sold results to prospects. there's been no over promising.

all that said, yeah, i think to a man, they would all like to be able to say "see what we did with a 4-8 team in one year? with that roster?"

and they'd love 15 more practices with this team.

If both teams are 5-7 and Clay Helton is retained, it’d be hard to differentiate between the two. Helton might consider his seat here just as hot.

No first year HC or coordinator should have a hot seat unless maybe they took over at a successful program and aren't maintaining. If Helton had become the OC at Bama and the Bama offense slumped then yes, but not when an OC inherits a dumpster fire. The only other issue might be if the OC's and HC's personalities clashed, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. And just because some fans want to put a 1st year OC on the hotseat doesn't mean the HC or AD are thinking that way.

And going 5-7 at UT this season should not be seen as a failure; different story at USC.

I’m not talking about him being on the hot seat this year - he shouldn’t be. But he might want to get out ahead of the hot seat if he thinks 2019 will make or break him at UT. I’m not predicting that’s the case, but if he has his style, and that’s not what Pruitt wants to run, he may not think he has a path to success here despite their friendship. Just saying, even though I don’t necessarily fully agree with your contrast of where the programs are right now, it may factor into his decision making.

Let's pretend for a second that we would have hired Schiano, Gundy, Brohm or Doeren last year and we are currently 3-8 under first year head coach _______________. Meanwhile, Jeremy Pruitt is still the DC of undefeated Alabama coming off a couple shutouts against LSU and Miss St.

Where would Pruitt be heading in this year's coaching carousel?

interesting way to look at it, for a what if situation.

i do think it was only going to be a matter of time before Pruitt hit the front page of "hot candidates" around the country.....like every saban OC/DC.......

Bruin is like the only real nv left. Wasn't a pretty season but we got a real coach. If LWS isn't speaking doom then we're good.

It's so funny how sooo many people here say they are in a wait and see mode all year but when areas of legit concerns are expressed that's somehow being anti coaching staff.

The simple fact is this years success or failure is riding on Saturday. If we win it's been a good year and that will give the staff some motmemtum going forward and much needed extra practice

If we lose this season is a failure anyway you look at it.

Either way the success overall of Pruitt isn't going to be defined by year1. He simply gets more patience if year 1 is a success.

You guys can call it whatever you want but that isn't being a nega in my mind
