I see nothing about Pruitt that makes me think he will fail here. He has the SEC experience, the coordinator chops, and the confidence to get it done. He also has the backing of a newly invigorated and healthy looking Fulmer who will probably arrange a few late night Shoney's meetings to help him along. We're all good.

Every coach we’ve fired deserved it.
I 100% agree. What I meant was calling for heltons head after less than 1 calendar year of implementing his system is not a good look. Takes time to be able to do what you want. Takes longer time when your oline looks like they haven’t seen a weight room.
Also not implying directly you want him fired just speaking in general.

Pruitt will get it done. I’m not sure Helton will be a great OC tho.

Guys in the FF thinking the way Pruitt speaks will make people devalue their UT degrees. We will not get back if idiots such as this ever run our program. Think a few of them is why we are where we are now. About had enough of these idiots on the hill. If Pruitt doesn’t do it, then we may never get it done. This may be our last run.
If Pruitt doesn't get it done, it will take bookoos of money to resurrect it and even that may not work.

It's just a matter of being patient. Getting whipped by teams like Mizzou won't happen when our lines of scrimmage are stacked with well-coached studs. I actually think our lines can be solid by 2020. We will just have to take our lumps again next year by playing a ton of freshmen and preparing for a breakout year the next season.

Hell, there's a decent chance the freshmen can be pretty damn good. Bama seems to have freshman studs on their OL and DL pretty frequently. Get those boys on the juice and let's roll.

No doubt. Even if you have doubts about Pruitt, the staff is so good that it makes up for it. The one true tell will be if staff members start leaving in droves on their own. I don’t think that’s going to happen - maybe a couple changes every now in then.

We’re going to get there. And we’re going to get there quickly. That doesn’t necessarily mean championships, but we’re going to be in the conversation for many years to come.

I don't know if you're too young to know or too old to remember, but there was major controversy with PM as starting QB as well. Many were sure that Brandon Stewart was better and should be the starter. Their argument was that PM was only the starter because of the family. That thought continued until probably shortly after BS transferred and wasn't doing as well as PM. Even then PM was frequently nitpicked... happy feet, couldn't beat UF, yada, yada, yada.
I remember. I think people were saying Stewart should be starting into his sophomore year.

I think they'll be movement this year. We won't know whether they moved on their own or encouraged to seek employment elsewhere. New staffs are most volatile at the beginning. It takes a bit to settle in.

Hank was right. Neither QB is good. JG has the most potential due to his quality arm. Time to let it go and see what recruiting and the off season brings in terms of roster development and coaching improvement. I hope we beat Vandy and go to a bowl for the 15 practices that both the players and coaches need, however, I don't expect it to happen.

On a more important and personal note; the KPD officer directing traffic that was attacked from behind with a hammer without warning by the cowardly young white guy in a black hoody and gray sweats that was observed by dozens of people at 17th and Clinch who did not come to his aid or try to restrain the attacker - is a very close family friend and a VFL. drvenner also knows him. He underwent surgery for the effects of a fractured skull last night at UT Medical and was just moved from the trauma critical care unit to a regular room. Fortunately he never lost consciousness or motor skills. The prognosis looks good at this point, however, he is middle aged and there could be long lasting effects.

First, he and his family covet your prayers for his recovery as well as for the support for the men and women in blue. We are all dependent upon their skill set to stay safe. Most Knoxville residents have very little understanding as to what is actually happening in their community in regards to gangs and crime. Second, pray for the capture of this criminal. Third, to the UT fans who were there and others reading this - if you saw something, say something. At least make some effort to help a human being in great distress and to take a thug off the streets who could harm you or someone you care about next. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
OMG!! I did not know this until now. Prayers for him and the family for sure. They need to catch that worthless waste of air and throw him as far under as the law will allow.

Not impossible. There’s enough reporting on this program that we’ll know why a guy is leaving.

Then it’ll depend on the level of guy we get as a replacement.

Oh my? What a piece of human excrement. Prayers to the officer.

Would be a nightmare for us.... we can’t hang with these high scoring offenses. Mizzou, WVU, etc. are our worst matchup.

Don't give a damn about the outcome.
Must make a bowl.

A nightmare would be losing Saturday. 2013 all over again if we do

Is Missouri the 3rd best team in the sec right now? Besides Georgia, bama, and maybe LSU????
They are playing as well as anyone besides those two. I think on a good day, Missouri could hang with Georgia. I am not saying they would beat them before all the "realists" jump on me, but if Lock gets hot, that offense is tough to stop.

Georgia’s offense doesn’t scare me like Missouri’s does. The score also doesn’t dictate how close their game actually was.
