I get what the OP means, just as most around here think John Adams is a turd. Same boat.
It's okay to make a pic either way, it's what they do for a living. It's another thing to brow beat the program into the ground at every opportunity.

As was mentioned earlier, sports talk in this town is pretty crappy, no matter who they're picking

So OP essentially blames Satan(I guess Darth Vader had an alibi) for causing a guy to pick against the Vols and this has really "tested" the OP.

Yet everyone just carries on about their day like OP isn't mental.

I think he looks up to John Adams. What gets me about him (and many in media like: Gary Danielson and Cris Collinsworth), is how he comes off as so arrogant. Even when talking about stupid stuff, like favorite movies, or candy bars. You can just hear in his voice, when someone disagrees with him, he treats them like they are idiots for not seeing it his way.

I have lived in many different cities, and this is the only city where the press is so against the Home team. UT is their bread and butter, it's not like there is a Pro team here. I was so happy when they took John Adams off the air. But you can still hear him asking questions in press conferences. He asks the most inane questions just to try to get a reaction. Jimmy Hyams is knowledgeable, but man if he comes across something bad against UT, he has be the first breaking it (even if it turns out to be not true). It's like they will go out the way to talk bad about the Vols.

I don't want sun shine pumpers. But I want realistic reporting. Look at Erik Ainge, he can be critical, but also talks about the improvement and good things about UT. Plus he gives us an insight from someone who has actually played. I would rather listen to him, or even someone like Heather, who at least bleeds orange. I feel most of the media here want the Vols to fail, so it gives them something to talk about.

The job of the media isn't to cheer on the Vols, it's to say what they think will happen. I have no issue with anyone thinking we were going to get beaten badly by UK in that situation. Nothing positive had happened for the team in almost a month at that point.

It cracks me up that they get called state run media in the same post of someone being critical of them for not pulling the party line.

I don’t particularly care for his show because it is constantly negative nacncyism. I don’t mind picking against TN or pointing out flaws but even when things are ok to good he nitpicks. I try to find enjoyment in sports not always looking for falling skies.

I get what OP is saying , especially given the tone of today’s show. He and his counterpart were basically coming up with ways UK gave the game away by “not showing up”, “coaching was horrible”, etc.....
No credit given to UT in the hour and half I had them on driving thru the area today.
I was actually thinking the same thing , like did these guys see the AU and UK games (they sure did discount the outcomes)

He was very complimentary of their performance today?

Also, if you havent noticed the name of the show is sports 180, and the theme is OPPOSING views.

He is no EF Hutton.

I think he just throws stuff out there, not sure he really knows football.
It’s hard for me to listen to that show.

Fair enough. I didn’t listen today. Going off previous times. Actually haven’t listened all year. I already know things are bad this year. Didn’t need to hear his pile on.

I don’t begrudge him being on the air. I’ve got plenty of other things to do/listen to during his time slot. If others enjoy him and WIVK feels like he is worth whatever they pay him so be it.

He does a mid-day sports talk RADIO show in market 72. Do you have any idea how little he probably makes? The man is a hard worker and he does a fine job. It isn't his job to predict a Tennessee victory every week. If I wanted to hear that, I'd just talk to my old college buddies before a game. He knows his stuff. Anybody with eyes could see that Tennessee was going to need an extraordinary effort to win that game.

I like their show. Its not the best, but its local sports radio, so I dont know what level of radio perfection can be expected. I dont like ainge or basillo because they catch on to stupid cliches and wear them out. Reminds me of Hannity in terms of conservative talk radio. Will expresses the opposing view of the show, I dont see why anyone would ve suprised by it. Today he was very complimentary of their performance against UK.
But in certain topics you can tell he is taking the opposing view just to generate conversation.

Those two almost always share the same view. I don't think they understand how that 180 thing works.

I"ve heard that show on WNML and I've always wondered one thing about it, is Will West Beavis or Butthead?
In all seriousness, this show is terrible. Not sure why WNML has just punted the noon to 3 slot.

Lets face it. up until Auburn, this team hadnt shown any sign that they could win there (one of the 2 or 3 toughest places to win in SEC IMO). And based on SC running at will, a career game by Snell wasnt totally off the chart of predictions.

I think the players on this team have really had to learn how to play SEC football this year. Few of them were factors in 2016 and last year was a complete washout in terms of anything positive coming out of that. One reason I criticized Pruitt for jumping Osborne so bad after his 2nd iNT was the majority these kids have NEVER played meaningful time in a game with a 3 score lead late in the 4th qtr in a SEC game. The two other P5 wins in the two years have come down to last play or two.

Sports Animal. I don't care for Will, Vince, or Heather. I like the Erik Ainge show with Brian Rice. Josh Ward and Hyams are okay.

Yeah, I heard your call. And he explained his reasoning by saying the Kentucky had better offensive and defensive lines than Tennessee, which played into Kentucky's hands.

That makes perfect sense. Not to mention Kentucky had a 10 win season to play for and was coming off a loss. They should have been steaming mad.

Tennessee played it's best game all year. Had they played like the Charlotte game, they probably would have been ran. Now, how about you stop talking ish about people on an anonymous message board?

Related note: it's so funny the sports animal got ripped for taking up for Butch and everyone called it state run, and now people are complaining that one of the personalities expected Tennessee to get rolled by the number 11 team in the country after the performance they put up against Charlotte.

I have not liked Will West on the radio since the first day he showed up. He is a troll and seems to hate the VOLs. He thinks he knows it all and actually know very little about sports.He is the worse one on the sports animal except when John Adams shows up.. I do not listen to Will and Josh unless they have a special guest. I think Josh Ward is pretty good, but I can /do not listen to their program because of Will.
