Pruitt has exceeded expectations

He coached as good of a game as possible against UGA, had a great coaching off week and game week for AU, did a really good job against gameCOCKS, and last night the light bulb came on last night all over the field for these players from the coaching they’ve been getting from this staff.......

The use of TO’s and play calling the last 2 minutes of the first half though......simply put....BRILLIANT.

Just watched my first “Jeremy Pruitt Show” and he just looks like he’d rather be getting a colonoscopy than sitting next to Bob. 😂

I thought 5-7 was about where we would land, so even if we lose these last 2, we hit that mark. However, beating 2 ranked SEC teams, one on the road, beats what I though Pruitt was capable of as a first year coach. Thoughts?
"but, but, but he hasnt started chryst".....says a group of morons

The growth in this team has been outstanding. A complete new offense, loss of 2 or 3 best offensive linemen, defense improving consistently shows some serious coaching going on. Pruitt and this staff definitely can compete in the SEC and wait until they have 2 of their own classes on the roster and see what happens. Making a bowl game with the roster they inherited is terrific. Kentucky is a solid veteran team and the Vols gave them their worst beating of the year.

Also hats off to AD Phil Fulmer for rushing into a burning house - putting out the flames - and building a colossus from the insurance proceeds. How many times have we seen the fifth choice end up being the best one? I would not trade Pruitt for any of the names mentioned in the UT search - not even Chuckie hahaha.

Would you have said that last week? This team has been up and down, but hopefully, they have it figured out. As of last week, the team had regressed. If they close out the season with wins, I'll be happily looking forward to next season.
I think we had a bad hang over from USC getting away from us and just weren't interested last week. Effort was totally lacking at home coming. Team is getting it and playing better. I think we get to a bowl and that will mean a lot.

I expected 3-9 preseason so to be well above that has me enthused!

Especially considering the way we played UK. Felt good.

Not really a
I would say that if we make a bowl game he has certainly exceeded expectations without a doubt. We dominated UK for a majority of the game but look dreadful against Charlotte and SC for most of the game. It is a head scratcher
Not really a head scratcher. See last year's team

Pruitt must find away to win 1 more game to become bowl eligable, this will confirm the direction of Tennessee football and boost recruiting

Yep, next year could be the best season we have seen in years if they make a bowl and continue to improve. 10 wins is certainly possible.
I know everyone is excited but 10 wins means we either beat the entire lot of BYU, UF, SC, Miss St, MO, KY, and Vandy or we upset UGA or Bama and lose to one of that first group. I don’t know that one recruiting cycle will have us ready for that just yet. If we finish with 6+ wins I guarantee there will be a ton of people saying 10-2 next year though. I’ll be curious to see what happens this week. MO is a more difficult matchup for us.

As long as Bama, UGA are as good as they are, and Florida still is Florida, I'm reluctant to ever say we'll get 10 wins. Not so much because of Alabama or Georgia but simply because we have a mental block with Florida I think. We never win when we should and definitely don't when we shouldn't

The week before the USC game, they had a bye week while we got whooped against Alabama. If they had Alabama and we had a bye week, would've beaten them like a rented mule. I'm still scratching my head about Charlotte though.

It was a good performance, but let's see if he can string two together before we give him a raise and an extension.
Disagree. He’s the real deal. I’ve said it since he was a coaching candidate for us. Give the man a raise/extension and make the buyout for him impossible to leave so Bama never comes calling.

I think eventually Pruitt has the right mindset to break us out of that but I don’t know that it will be next year in the Swamp. Get him 2 full recruiting classes and have the game here and maybe. We will see. I don’t think UGA will be on the same level as Bama either but I could be wrong. Close, but not quite there.

I've been burned so often I'm in the "Believe it when I see it camp" I want Pruitt to be the one who does that, I sincerely hope he does and I believe of any of our last three coaches he is the one who can do it.

But like I said, I just refuse to let myself believe until I see it.
