Pruitt has exceeded expectations

ITS TRUE ! Coach Pruitt is learning to be head coach as the season progresses.
At the first of the season I said I thought we had one of the best coaching staffs in College football. I still believe that even if I do get upset with Helton at times.
All we were asking from him in his first year was that he, at the very least , show us a little improvement each game

After just completing a hail Mary Td to go in the half, he said " I think we need to learn how to act" . I think he's the coach we need to change the culture
Maybe some are not learning what he is teaching. The boys do need to learn how to act, especially in the endzone. That alone = one more win this season so far!

Yea, who knows if he is THE coach or not, but he took a pretty big step in the right direction tonight. In my eyes anyway.

This was a fun game with very few lows, for me. I, we needed it. Yea It was just Kentucky, but that's one of the several reasons why we needed it. Ya know?

Woot! Lol, I'm just ramblin. I'll stfu now.

That's probably going to Mullen

I don’t know, Mullen inherited a better team than Pruitt did. Plus he isn’t a first time HC

Pruitt has taken a team that lost 8 games last year and didn’t win a single SEC game to beating two ranked SEC teams, one on the road and this is his first year as a HC ever.

If we win out...I think he deserves it.

I told my son before the game that Kentucky is really a one dimensional team.If Pruitt is really a great coach that he would scheme up to shut it down.He did a masterful job of game planning this week.Dont know if he is the guy for sure yet.He is looking more and more like he could be.Our d is playing its best football right now.We are starting to take on our coaches personality.Excited about our future.

Before the season started i honestly thought 4-8 would be our best hope, 3-9 very likely and 5-7 a damn good season.
Anyone who has watched this team the last 5 years, the lacking class that came in, and could see 5 wins before the season was kidding themselves and couldn’t separate reality from history. No one was counting auburn as a W and no one would’ve thought UK would be top 15 team at this point. Beating both show how far this team has come in a short time and should show what this staff can do.
I also know a lot of people haven’t been happy about the previous 2 games but this is year 1 and with what this staff inherited, up and downs should be expected. Just remember the ups have been higher than expected and the downs are about what should’ve been expected anyway.

I was thinking 5-7 going into the season. Another win and a bowl bid would be gravy.

Considering the talent he inherited he has done an outstanding job. Yes, there have been games where we have lacked some energy and seem to be over-committed to the run. But, with that said, there is only so much you can control with the lack of development that has occurred over the previous coaching staff.

Overall, I think Pruitt is doing great in building the foundation for a winning culture at Tennessee. Also, his expertise in defense has more than covered for the weaknesses we have had on that side of the ball. I credit his in-game defensive strategy responsible for putting us in a position to beat both Auburn and Kentucky.

Bottom Line. If you were to give this group of players to another coach with the same SEC schedule, I'm not sure there are more than a handful that could have us at 5-5 right now with an opportunity to clinch a bowl next week.

I said we were a .500 team after the West Virginia lost. It is enough talent on this team to win 8 games. Due to bad coaching they have been underdeveloped. Next year we win 8 to 9 games.
