That type of fandom is most often prefaced by the words "fair weather". If you only like the team when they win, are you really a fan? I have been a fan since before I went there in '81 and have been through the ups and downs along the way. I have posted many times on this board that I go into every game/season pulling for the best result. I am happy if we are successful, disappointed and sometimes angry if we don't make it, but the next season/game starts the cycle all over. Last year was the very first that I actually stopped watching the team in over 38 years.
The whole convo was about why our fans are negative. I said after 10+ years of being awful that happens. When we were in our prime we were positive. When we are good again in 2 years we will be positive again. Bama fans are positive because they’re winning. They were negative 10 years prior to saban arriving. It’s not just tenneseee fans. Being positive or negative doesn’t qualify you for being a fan or not. We are in back to back years of the worst teams in school history. I’m still positive about the future. Our staff is great, with Phil running the show we finally have stability back. We’re gonna Be fine. But the only reason you play the games are to win. If you don’t win. It’s negative
