The urban areas want a full ban. Plain and simple. The rural agrarian areas want them to shut the hell up.
The urban areas want them banned or at least heavily restricted everywhere. Rahm Emanuel and others blame Chicago's gun violence problem on the fact that the rural areas outside of Chicago have less restrictive laws and they come into the city that way.

What happened was horrific. Evil is real. So are CA gun laws: - Universal BG checks - May issue - 10 round mag limit - Purchase limitations - 10 day waiting period - No reciprocity with other states - “Assault weapons” ban & registration - Ammo thru FFL - Registration if moved

* Sheriff says they have "no idea" what the shooter's motive was

Doesn't seem to be happening in Australia, or Norway, or italy, or Greece. Maybe those places aren't populated by humans though.
Never seen septic tank refuse come out of someone’s mouth so fast without even checking any facts.

I was making the point that we are going to have some more thoughts and prayers.

No action.

California has the strictest gun laws in the country yet have had a fair share of "mass" shootings. At what point do you take a step back and realize that you aren't fixing the problem with more gun laws?

What action would you like to see? The articles he used were already illegal in California.

Social media check so far has turned up nothing.

No motive yet.

Other than "well, we have to do SOMETHING!" what else would you like to see?

You are of the belief that intercessory prayer doesn’t work?

Does the absence of any evidence that would suggest it works necessitate a "belief" that it doesn't work or just the passive acceptance it doesn't?

Its a bit early, but initial reports are that a) he had a mental illness issue and was on the radar as recently as this Spring, and b) he was using unlawful magazines.

I think people that have such irrationality that the police are called and have a crisis person come meet with them to "clear" them should not have guns for quite some time.
